We will see but the Lakers have a knack of rebuilding very quickly.

They don't have the luxury of a young Kobe this time.

And yes there will be contenders after Howard. Everyone will be. With better trading packages for sure.

The Lakers will be back....sooner than later. They may have to rebuild, but look down through the history of the NBA....it is dominated with championships by them and the Celtics.

Orlando has already stated that they will not trade Dwight Howard and won't go through a Carmelo like problem.

Then they will go thru a Lebron/Cavs like problem then and get nothing and disappear.

They appear to be fine with that if they can't resign him, i'm just stating what GM Otis Smith said.

Phil appears to be done/gone. Kobe is getting older and they are salary strapped. I think the Lakers are done for a few years. This is what happens when 75% of your roster gets old at the same time, and you continue to pay them all.
  • Hb31187
Yeah thats a great idea...most teams would nto want to go through a Lebron situation and would rather have a Carmelo situation

Exactly. The same thing is about to happen to the Celtics. As much as I hate to say it the Heat may of actually known what they were doing. Getting together when theyre all in their prime, and when the Celtics and Lakers are starting to go downhill.

At least Melo said he wanted out and gave them the opportunity....Lebron completely hamstrung the Cavs and now it is ruins for a few years.

Yeah thats what im saying. I figured theyd just get rid of him instead of basing their whole franchise off the center piece coming back...and then when he leaves they get nothing and theyre fucked lol.

Dont know why their GM isnt learning from what happened to the Cavs

    Rose shoots too much.

who else is going to score?

If rose is a pass first pg, id bet they get blown out consistently

    That was stupid

    Just like Westbrook, combo guard

westbrook kills okc..for as much good as he does, when it comes to clutch time he goes into me mode
  • Hb31187
I agree with the Westbrook thing because he has an MVP caliber player on his team to go to.

Rose if he is pass first, has next to nobody(since Boozer has pretty much been a non factor all year almost)

Deng is a capable scoring threat. They are all capable scoring threats when he drives and attracts 2-3 defenders on him. Its probably better to find the open guy than to throw up a bad shot.

Odom's shot wasn't that cheap, but Bynum's was really bad. I think Bynum has slided into spot #2 behind Derek Fisher for the dirtiest player in the league.

I also think this is the end of the largest NBA bandwagon fan base in America. Kobe is washed up, the Lakers have no young talent, and they will be bottom feeders until they can recruit someone to carry Kobe to another championship.

I agree with this, as great as he is, he is a look at the rim first kind of player.

The last of the Laker fans on here that I thought would show up. I applaud you for showing up(as well as wildcat).

Beasley, Wallace and now Barea. Dude is going to get a nice suspension. I dont know if it will be enough to chase Orlando away from an offseason trade rather than a deadline deal or not(or make them look for another trading partner).
