WWE Fans: Return of Goldberg?

  • osu45804
He says on his Twitter page that he is in negotiations with the WWE ... And looks like ole' Hogan and TNA missed the boat!

Wasn't his last match vs. Brock Lesner at WM a few years ago that was quite possibly the biggest hyped and worst match ever at Mania?
  • Lovejoy1984
I didn't think he'd be coming back to wrestle, thought it was for merchandising.
  • Enforcer
I would like to see him comeback just to see how WWE would use him
  • atomica600
I know it doesn't have to do with wrestling, but I really enjoy his show "Bullrun". It is on the Speed Channel on Thursday nights.

Yes. It was public knowledge that both Goldberg and Lesnar were leaving the WWE, which made that match meaningless as anything other than an exhibition with Stone Cold as the ref. The crowd shit on the whole deal with the exception of Stone Cold stunner-ing both of them at the end.
  • Little Danny
I see Goldberg doing a spot like Stone Cold last week or maybe even as a guest referee. However, I seriously doubt he is coming back to wrestle.
  • End of Line
I don't see him coming back to wrestle but more like a guest host of some sort.
  • Eric Taylor
It would be something along the lines of a Legends Deal.

They would sign him and put out all kinds of merchandise.

I could see him coming back for one more match next year at Wrestlemania in Atlanta.
  • quaker0764
They will probably have him do a legends deal so they can out merch and put him in Smackdown vs Raw.

Rumor has it that WWE will do a WCW themed HOF because WM is in Atlanta.
  • Eric Taylor
If he does sign the deal, he will no doubt be put into the Hall of Fame next year.

And if he is, it will be the biggest crock of shit ever.
  • Eric Taylor
They are more than likely going to put mostly WCW people in next year.

he wouldnt be as bad as half the people Vince has put in.

Goldberg was a piece of shit who didn't earn/respect anything in the business of wrestling.

That's how I feel for two reasons.

    1. His HUGE push and how it ended. The win streak accumulated so quickly that either WCW was counting house shows or just making up numbers until he got far enough up the card that he wasn't facing total jobbers 95% of the time. The second part is more personal bias, but you build him to be a god and then have him lose the belt by shock therapy and then have the guy (Nash) who won the title via said electrocution go down to the infamous "fingerpoke of doom" to give the belt to Hogan...everything about that program sucked ass and played a huge role in WCW's death. He got over by being forced down throats...not because he was super-awesome. He was a big guy who squashed people with power moves...and wasn't made by the WWE (and really wasn't treated nearly as special by them).

    2. His "my way or else" attitude about his character. I remember reading (and watching) about how he completely rebelled against his WCW-riffic heel turn. All the blood packs Hacksaw Jim Duggan could spit up couldn't disguise the fact he showed no desire to slam fists into the kidney region. So he quickly wound up being face again.

Exactly Heretic. Goldberg did his few year in the business, made a lot of money, and quickly turned his back on wrestling.

I've always heard a lot of negative things about Goldberg and the whole streak. The number will changing all the time, and Wikipedia says it was something like 173-0, which is ridiculous. I've also heard that WCW would pipe in fans chanting "GOLDBERG" anytime he came out, which is pretty cheap haha.

Seriously. Do you have to be under 25, drunk or a redneck to post about WWE or the other silly professional wrestling stuff?

Not sure if that was a question or a statement.

    Either way, its retarded.

It was question. Seriously, you kids follow the professional wrestling? I suppose the Easter Bunny is your next great thing to look forward too? I dunno, Just sayin you could be watching that paint dry you know.

Just like so many freaking people look forward to American Idol which is a joke and rigged? People like what they like and if you don't like it, get over it.

As for Goldberg, he isn't going to wrestle but they will put him in the HOF. Now he may not have been the best ever and isn't close to being mentioned in the group of guys like Austin, Rock, Undertaker, HHH, HBK. But his impact on the business was very large for a few years. It's not his fault WCW decided to ruin themselves with the fingerpoke of doom. He impact on the attitude era was large but by no means does he go down as one of the "greats".

I'm 37 years, not a drunk or a redneck and believe I fall into the category of being highly educated. I admit I have the guilty pleasure of watching some professional wrestling from time to time. I even comment on it on here as well. I guess in your mind I am a loser.

It was worth more than a few LOLs when WWE capitalized on all of that with the Gillberg character (complete with blatantly piped in crowd chants). In the whole Monday Night Wars, that was one of my favorite shots fired by either side.

    Hahahahahahahaha.

Seriously, if referee Stone Cold stunning both participants at the end of a match doesn't get your blood flowing, you're not alive.

Goldberg was the biggest star that WCW ever produced.

The mega run he had was a huge part of what kept WCW going.

The biggest mistake they ever made with his character was when Kevin Nash booked himself to end Goldberg's streak
