Question about Madden/NCAA 2010....?
-
77LegendI haven't purchased either of these two games yet. Still om 2009. Can someone give me a brief run down on what is new about the 2010's. Particularly with the Dynasty and Franchise mode? Thanks for your insight!

George CostanzaI am in the same spot you are. I have been playing NCAA '09 alot lately and want to get the 2010 version.
Can you create teams on the 2010 version? -
BuckeyeBlueI'm a fan of NCAA 2010. In the past few years (that I had played) it seemed like it was overly difficult to run the ball. Now, it is possible to go through a season and have your running back carry the load for your team. The one gripe that I have is that injuries tend to happen a little too frequently. It gets annoying constantly losing players for a few quarters to a few weeks at a time. Overall, very worthwhile game.

HeathAlum21Madden 10 is a much more quality video game. It is obvious that EA sports put all of their time into Madden and neglected NCAA 10. There are many glitches in NCAA, and Madden has more options in general.

I agree with this. Also, they made punt returns impossible this year which in my opinion was an over correction from the easy punt returns in 2009.BuckeyeBlue wrote: I'm a fan of NCAA 2010. luthershotI was not as impressed with Madden this year as I normally am. The player speed ratings tend to be a bit slow....causing receivers to take longer to have their routes develop, often leading to qb sacks or hurried throws.

I've heard that too but I haven't actually played the game yet.luthershot wrote: I was not as impressed with Madden this year as I normally am. 77LegendHeathAlum21.....What other glitches is in NCAA? I also thought there were too many injuries in 09, so I turned them off. How is the Franchis (Madden) and the Dynasty (NCAA)????

slide22For some reason half the time when you run out of bounds the clock doesn't stop. It sucks late in the half when you try to run out of bounds to save clock only to have it run out or have to burn a timeout.

EnforcerYes you can create a team on NCAA10, But you have to be signed into Live to do so.

This is true. The players' speed is lower than in previous games and it is harder to complete passes especially when it rains because receivers always fall when cutting on a route.ss7 wrote:

jordo212000don't get me wrong, I own both... but neither game is perfect.
I've played madden probably less than 10 times. one gripe that I have is that the gameplay is really, really slow. The fast guys are burners and then everybody else is so slow in comparison. outstanding graphics though.
NCAA's gameplay is very fast and almost not even realistic. the game play is also nowhere close as good as madden's. I still play NCAA more though... -

I believe I discussed this with you....ss7 wrote:

It may not be that noticeable to some, but it definitely happens. Then you take a guy like Harvin, who has a speed of 99 (or that abouts) and he is nearly unstoppable due to the fact the fasted DB on some teams has a speed of 88.
The injuries are a bit much in 2010, but not out of control. I have not noticed any real glitches, but like most have said, they did not make many changes to really make the game much different.77Legend wrote: HeathAlum21.....What other glitches is in NCAA? They changed the rule in college that going out of bounds only stops the clock until the ball is spotted, like gaining a first down. I do not know if the rule is in effect the whole game or only when a certain amount of time is left.slide22 wrote: For some reason half the time when you run out of bounds the clock doesn't stop. jordo212000(in NCAA) oh and for some reason about midway through the 3rd quarter my D-lineman sub out and I can't get them to come back in. which is killer when you are a smaller school with little depth. sometimes if your D is on the field long enough you'll see a LT or RB playing end. it is very frustrating.

Tim TebowI borrowed Madden from my friend the other night. It was the best football game I have every played.

You need to fix your depth chart. Often times they will have your best backup, being the back up at four or five spots. When that happens that screws up everything. Make sure you have a different back up at each position and it will take care of that problem.jordo212000 wrote: (in NCAA) oh and for some reason about midway through the 3rd quarter my D-lineman sub out and I can't get them to come back in. which is killer when you are a smaller school with little depth. sometimes if your D is on the field long enough you'll see a LT or RB playing end. it is very frustrating. -
HeathAlum21For example, there have been a handful of games when the other team (In Dynasty) has a player that is small. When I say small, I literally mean physically small. He comes up to the other players' knees. There are several other glitches that make the dynasty mode frustrating.
In NCAA, it is very difficult to play defense and it is entirely too easy to pass the ball. The only defense that is effective is 2 man under where you are the safety and control the running game of the offense and pressure the QB. You will still give up points, but this is the only way. If you are a school that is not very good(Not Ohio State for example), then the opposing QB will carve you up no matter what you do. If you try to play a zone, the QB will complete 95 percent of his passes. If you play 2 man under, he will still probably complete 75 percent of his passes but you can atleast control the running game. As for the passing game, no matter what team I am, I can complete atleast 80 percent of my passes and throw for 4-5 TDS a game. If you play with a team that is actually good, 600 yards and 8 TDS is not uncommon.
While others are complaining about the Madden gameplay, I like it because you can actually play defense and it is much more difficult to score. I think Madden is far more realistic. I actually just played the National Championship on Heisman(highest difficulty) and beat Florida 70-3 with Ohio State. In another dynasty, I won multiple national championships on Heisman with OU. If you're into putting up gaudy numbers, maybe NCAA is for you.
For the record in my National Championship game, Tebow was still 17-22 in the game, but it is incredibly easy to sack the QB with the safety. They would get down in the redzone and then would get sacked 3 times. Kurt Coleman had 17 sacks in the game.
