Moving to enemy territory...

  • Gobuckeyes1
So my wife recently found out that she will be completing her medical school residency in Kalamazoo, Michigan, requiring us to move there in the very near future. We will be there for three years. We are happy from the standpoint that Kalamazoo (through Michigan State) has a very good program in her specialty and it was her first choice. I am a little apprehensive, however, about the prospect of actually living and paying taxes in the state of Michigan...especially during football season...

I am taking some comfort in the fact that her program is through Michigan State, not scUM...and they hate Michigan almost as much as we do...so at least we will have something in common.

Are there any other Buckeyes in enemy territory out there? And if so, do you have any advice that might make my life easier?

Not really enemy territory, but they don't like is much in Texas either. It's twofold though: we're Yankees and they really hate THE!

    Sure do.

    Grow up, that's what.

I consider myself in enemy territory in Florida/SEC land! I hate the SEC with a passion!

Wear your OSU gear everywhere you go and fight anyone who talks shit.

Sooner or later they'll learn to keep their mouths shut

Congratulations to both you and your wife.

Do you really think this was a serious post? I'm just having a little fun with the situation.

Get a clue...and learn how to pick up on a light-hearted, sarcastic post while you're at it.

Bring a shovel. They get a little bit of snow in Kalamazoo.

Girlfriend is from just outside of Kalamazoo (Richland). If there's any place I'd live in Michigan, it's that area.

You will find that most people in K-Zoo are State fans. They don't really have a problem with OSU because we both hate scUM.

I went to graduate school at UofM...just have fun with it, i was even able to have fun wearing OSU gear around Ann Arbor every football Saturday, regardless of whether OSU was playing there or not.

P.S. I didn't go to UofM out of any love for the Wolverines, just was the best fit for me at the time, in terms of the program i was in. Regardless of my dislike for their football team, the academic experience, especially at the grad level, is top-notch.

I've spent most of my life around OSU fans and see no reason to believe that something like this wouldn't be 100% serious.
