Hot Tub Time Machine

Nominated for 75 Oscars. Anyone see it, or plan on seeing it? Looks like some of the best acting and story line I've seen in a long time.

Dude Chevy Chase is in it. The 75 Oscar nomimations are not enough. Best Comdy since Scary Movie Part 72.

The cast is actually pretty funny, we'll see about the actual movie though.

It looks like it could be decent. I don't know if it will be worth paying to see but I will definitely Netflix it.

Yeah, it has a great cast. I will wait for some reviews because the story line is very retarded...lol

Definitely seems like a movie I'd enjoy. You can't go wrong with Craig Robinson

The unedited trailers make it look a lot better. It is said to be the same kind of comedy as a Harold and Kumar movie.

I may go see it, it looks like its funny from the trailer

I predict probably not real good numbers in theatres...but if its good and gets reviews it could be big with renting and purchasing.
  • Ytowngirlinfla
It was funny. Saw it on base last weekend as they had a sneak preview for it.

I blame Adam Sandler and the cast of "That 70s Show" for the nostalgia kick and giving rise to this and the last three seasons of "Family Guy".

Why did "The Wedding Singer" succeed? It's because it was a romantic comedy that happened to be set in the 80s; if it had been set in the time it was made (late 1990s), the only that would have changed would be the clothes, the cars, and the music. Why did "That 70s Show" succeed? Because it was a sitcom that happened to be set in the 70s that could have been set in any time period. For that matter, why did "The Godfather" succeed? It was made in the 70s and set in the period after WWII, but I didn't see main characters commenting on cars with tail fins and the rise of rock and roll.

Why did "That 80s Show" bomb? Because the entire thing was written around the idea of "what would happen if a bunch of teenagers from 2001 were transplanted to the all-encompassing decade of the 1980s?". Sounds familiar, right?

I am going to break this down very slowly for the incredibly dense individuals out there. I actually lived through the 80s and remember leg warmers, the music of everyone from Nena to Frankie Goes to Hollywood to Falco, and the high hair. The decade ended a little over 20 years ago, so this isn't exactly "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court".

    looks fucking stupid
  • Little Danny
Chevy Chase has aged dramatically in the past decade or so. Looking at him in this movie and on the stupid Junior College based TV show on now he just looks so old. He just does not have the physical tools for his style of humor anymore.

    ^ Have you watched Community?

Chevy is a riot in that show.

At first I thought...no way, what an awful premise for a movie (and I'm a John Cusack fan).

As I watch more and more of the previews, I've decided that I will probably check it out. But with 3 kids, I haven't been to a "big boy" movie in 4 years...so I'll wait until it's available on Netflix.

    I want to see this

Great movie. I loved it. Rob Cordry (sp?) was hilarious

Yeah, very good movie. Best part was the Elway and the Broncos not finishing "The Drive".....and the bet that was lost.

Yeah I lost it when he had that soap all over his face.

I liked all the scenes where they kept expecting the bell-hop to lose his arm and then he wouldn't haha

and yes, that chick has a nice pair.
