Conan O'Brien and Fox Take Baby Steps Toward a Deal

thavoiceDidnt read the article but when Conan left I did see a statement that many of the things he did while @ NBC he wont be able to do on any of his new show as NBC owns the rights to some of the bits
didnt watch Conan when he took over for leno. Just dont watch much tv but I DO remember watching and loving his show when he first took over for Letterman. The very first ep had him I think riding a bike through NYC with people telling him he better nto suck and such. Was pretty hilarious. I know my friends and I were huge Letterman fans and were apprehnssive about Conan at that point, he was an unknow, but very funny. -
Michael ScottI honestly hope it doesn't happen here in the Columbus area, I love watching The Office at 11. There are so many people with talk shows it is gettting stupid, everyone has one it seems, every station. I like Conan but just don't want to see him take bump The Office, even reruns.

I dont know idf its in the article posted but twice now Ive read in the paper that alot of affiliates may not like this move as they play some reruns @ 11 that are profitable for them, like The Office.Michael Scott wrote: I honestly hope it doesn't happen here in the Columbus area, I love watching The Office at 11. Many people arent ready for bed come 11 but dont wanna watch the news and would rather just wind down to some comedy. -
Swamp FoxIf Conan can't use his old bits, it will be just like any other comic's fate. It will all depend on how good the writers he hires are. If the writers are consistently good, his ratings will be alright. If they aren't, well..do you remember how vastly different the various "eras" of SNL were? Carson was funny just about every night, but he always gave writers their due. No one is funny every night. A group of outstanding writers have a better chance. Strength in numbers. We'll just have to see what happens.
