StiffmanThe certified letter contained a cashier's check that was valid only if freehuddle.com was removed by 1AM this morning! They gave Justin $12 plus the cost of making the changes to leave them alone. No free magazine subscriptions though.

oberhaus^^^^^thats my thought too...what legal groundsdo they have? You cant trademark the word HUDDLE
-
queencitybuckeyeHaving a case has little to do with it. It would cost more to defend that it's worth.

What's to defend? You mean I could get a lawyer to write a strongly worded letter telling a business or something to change their name or I'm going to sue, and they'd just do it? Why would something like this even have a trial? All that was needed was to write in big bold letters "F You" and send it back.queencitybuckeye wrote: Having a case has little to do with it. I kind of agree with the last point. Unless there was some defamation of character questions in the threat. If you research the first two days there were ppl posting openly about hacking JJ's site and taking them offline.
I dont really care for any details or what actually transpired. I dont have MY money invested in this site. We are all still here and posting in the same forums. Basically nothing has changed. Time to move on. -
queencitybuckeyeTo defend oneself when the other party has no case still costs a decent amount of money.
