New # 1. Ford sales top GM, Toyota
-
gorocks99Interesting that most Toyota buyers just decided to "stay on the sidelines" rather than switch automakers, though. Long-term, that isn't good for the U.S. companies.

In a better economy, more switch. now.. not so much.gorocks99 wrote: Interesting that most Toyota buyers just decided to "stay on the sidelines" rather than switch automakers, though. Long-term, that isn't good for the U.S. companies. -
JTizzleThat's good news probably what's driving the stock up again around 12.48 a share earlier when I checked. Pretty damn good for me since I bought in at $1.76.
I think the new 5.0 will help sales even more when the 2011 is released.

End of LineGreat news.

Swamp FoxMy Dad was a Lincoln kind of guy and I have owned several Fords and a Lincoln and have had hardly any trouble with any of them. I also have to admit that our Kia Sedona has been a terrific car, but our family has essentially been a Ford family for the most part. Way to go Ford!

fan_from_texasInteresting.
Mrs. FFT and I are probably going to buy a vehicle this weekend. We had initially looked at Toyotas, but considering the recent news, will pass and probably go with a Ford Fusion. I guess we're part of the trend. -
dwccrewI will regret not buying Ford stock at $1.89. Hell, I should have bought in the summer when it was around $7 a share.

We've got an '09 Fusion and love it. I was already a Ford guy, though, so it was a no brainer for us.fan_from_texas wrote: Interesting.

I'm thinking of buying a Fusion. #1 selling car of last year, so I may just join the club.justincredible wrote:

saltoSurprise, surprise. I'm not against GM, but isn't it kind of fishy that General Motors was about to tank, while Toyota was soaring in American sales. All of a sudden congress is investigating(fabricating?) recalls of the number one sellers and now Toyota is sinking and GM is the great American company. Just doesn't smell right to me. How would you classify this type of bailout?
-
hoops23Ford didn't take a buyout and that gained them a lot of respect with the american people..
Our household is a Ford household, as is much of my family. -
Swamp FoxI did admire Ford for staying out of the bail-out proram and "going it alone". I think Henry would have been proud.

Who said GM is great?salto wrote: Surprise, surprise. I'm not against GM, but isn't it kind of fishy that General Motors was about to tank, while Toyota was soaring in American sales. Fabricating? Toyota has admitted they dropped the ball. They admitted to the problem..Congress isn't 'making up' that the accelerators were sticking. Congress is investigating the 'cover up' b/c Toyota supposedly knew the accelerators were sticking for years.salto wrote: All of a sudden congress is investigating(fabricating?) recalls of the number one sellers and now Toyota is sinking and GM is the great American company. -
raiderbuckAmazing what good leadership and a focused business plan can do in this economy. Bravo Ford.
-
cbus4lifeNew Ford Fusion is freaking awesome.
-
jmogMy grandfather worked for Ford for 30 years, so we were a Ford family already, but when they didn't take the bailout, it solidified our "Fordness" to make up a word.
I bought a brand new Ford Focus last year as my old Focus was at about 250k miles. I love the car, love SYNC.
I also love that I bought some Ford stock when it was under $2. -
Thunder70wish I would've too. Its at $12.59/share right now...

said_aouitaHey Zwick, is the rumor true that come 2014 the Mustang will (finally) have an independent rear axle?
-
GoChiefsFord hasn't come out and said it officially..but it is HIGHLY rumored that that will be the case.
-
ZWICK 4 PREZWhy would you want one? The Mustang has always been a drag car, not a road course car. The IRS is no good for the drag strip.

Because Ford's only way to stay competitive in the market is 20 year old technology. Remember when Ford Mustangs raced in the trans-am series?ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote: Why would you want one? The Mustang has always been a drag car, not a road course car. The IRS is no good for the drag strip.
Some people enjoy more then just stop light to stop light. -

They put an IRS in the 99 Cobra and everyone swapped it out to a live rear axle.said_aouita wrote:
