Computer question?
-
Al CaponeGot my phone bill today and had 30 dollars in extra charges. To make a long story short, someone over the computer signed me up for extra stuff that I would never use. The phone company gave me the email address that did this. Is there any way I can find out who the address belongs too? Thanks

GoChiefsI'd offer some help..but I doubt you'd want advice from a Browns fan.

You probably can't find out who the email belongs to, but I would not pay charges that someone who wasn't me authorized.Al Capone wrote: Got my phone bill today and had 30 dollars in extra charges. Al CaponeNo I'm not paying, the phone company took the charges off. I was just curious of who did it.

Did you try googling the email? You could also try searching for them by email on facebook/myspace.Al Capone wrote: No I'm not paying, the phone company took the charges off. I was just curious of who did it.
I think if someone was doing this intentionally they would create a new fake email and then they would be pretty much impossible to track to down. (I supposed if it were serious enough you might be able to get a subpoena to find the ip address of whoever created the account and then track them through their service provider, but I don't think that this is the case.) If it was someone who did this by accident you might be able to figure it out. -
