Brock Lesnar "may never fight again"
-
Tully BlanchardBrock Lesnar is so sick, he'll be going to the Mayo Clinic so doctors can figure out what to do -- but it will probably require major surgery ... UFC Prez Dana White tells TMZ.
White tells us Lesnar -- the UFC heavyweight champ -- is "very, very sick" with some sort of intestinal disorder, although listening to White, it sounds a lot more serious than that. White says the condition will require "major surgery."
White is going to visit Lesnar in the hospital and is trying to get him transferred to the Mayo Clinic, one of the most renowned medical facilities in the world.
White says Lesnar -- formerly of the WWE -- was diagnosed with mono more than a week ago and was "bummed out" that he had to cancel the fight and went to Canada to rest. White says Lesnar collapsed in Canada a week ago today and has been hospitalized ever since.
White acknowledges the current condition is not mono but he will not be specific. White says the condition is not HIV or cancer.
And, White tells TMZ, "There's a possibility Lesnar will never fight again."

derek bomarthere was already a thread about this, but that sucks for him
-
Soda PopinskiThere was a thread but I don't remember hearing White say that he may never fight again. Just that it would likely be a long time before he could.
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeYeah; never once did I hear White mention anything about Lesnar never being able to fight again.
Steroids. Helluva drug. -
Tully BlanchardI am trying to figure out what this could be.
-
j_crazymy wife said they should send him to see house. then took a minute, looked at me and said "house is a real guy right? the show is based on him?"
this really does suck and I'm not interested in seeing an interim title which I'm sure is going to happen. -
Tully BlanchardThere is already talk of a match to set up a interim UFC Champion.
-
sportchamppswow that sucks... side effects from roids maybe
-
Tully BlanchardThere are alot of rumors going around that it could be kidney failure
-
Fab1bIt is weird that they won't come out and say what the real problem is. Disappointing!
-
bigdaddy2003I have heard aids from a few people. This really sucks.
-
Fab1b^ I have heard that floating around but god hope that is not true!^
-
Tully BlanchardThat would be horrible.
-
j_crazymy gut tells me that if it were aids we'd have heard about it before the Mir fight. Surely to God they get tested leading up to their fights. and since aids really isn't a fast acting disease he wouldn't be this bad this quick.
I admit I don't know that much about AIDS, so someone can call me out on that last statement. -
Soda PopinskiAccording to White it is not HIV/Aids or cancer. I know White isn't always the most trustworthy person but I don't think he would lie about that. Eventually that would come out and he would probably be ruined if he lied about something like that. I do hope we find out what exactly it is soon.

LeonardoHere's an article from after UFC 105 about Dana White talking about:

I can't remember where I read it but I did read about the possibility of Brock Lesnar never fighting again - and no, it wasn't the stupid fucks at TMZ.
Lesnar just needs to take as much time as he needs to recover from whatever this is. -
End of LineI wish the best for him.
-
jmogPeople on Sherdog are throwing out anything from Crohn's to pancreatitus (not sure if I spelled either of those correct).
Who knows, I'm no fan of Lesnar, but he's a dang good fighter and hate to see something like this.
FYI, some of the diseases being mentioned can be caused by roid use, which I think we all know he did when he was in the WWE. -
queencitybuckeyeWhere have you been hiding, long time no see?
-
j_crazywhat about the fact that he cuts weight big time for fights? could this affect him in any way?
-
jmog

Depends how he was cutting the weight. I don't know much about UFC, but i do know that laxative abuse is a problem in others sports that require a weight cut, like in wrestling.j_crazy wrote: what about the fact that he cuts weight big time for fights? could this affect him in any way?
Laxative abuse doesn't actually work as a weight loss method, contrary to popular belief. So I really don't see Lesnar using it as a way to cut weight since it's been proven that it doesn't work, but you never know. Laxative abuse has devastating effects on the internal organs, specifically the intestines, the liver, and the kidneys. -
Fab1bCutting weight certainly can attribute but until they say what it is we will not know.
-
Mr PatYikes, here's hoping he pulls through this...
-
BuckeyeBlueIt's sad hearing this about Lesnar. I am by no means a Lesnar fan (in fact I root against him in just about every fight), but it is a shame to see something like this happen. I hope he has a quick recovery, and can get his career back on track.
