I think she is really pretty there and she actually had talent. What a selloutUANyg wrote: -
gutYeah, really hard to believe someone that looks completely normal like that could morph into Lady GagGag.
But LMAO at calling her a sell out. Let's see, millions upon millions of dollars or remain "true to myself" and scrape by playing in bars? I guess what I'm saying is, in order to be a sell out, you first have to have something to sell. I don't think someone with no real musical career to speak of beforehand can really "sell out", more a matter of taking your break or staying poor. -
enigmaaxSelling out is an overused term anyway, but in this case it is completely bogus. She writes her own music and designs her own clothes, stages, and performances. It isn't as though the music industry came along and said, "we'll make you this to sell records". Her talent provides her a forum to express herself as she wishes. You can like her style or not, call her weird or whatever, but she is definitely her own person.

Strapping Young LadGaga's music is actually good. She has an original sound and real talent. I don't own any of it, but I listen to it when it's on.
And pop musicians can't sell out. The whole point of playing that type of music is to make it to the radio. If you play punk or metal and the record execs sign you and make you change your sound and censor your songs, then you've sold out. Seems to me LG is doing it her way, regardless. Not a sellout.... -
Laley23Not a sell-out, rather a genius. I dont like her music at all, but it is popular and bars play is all the time. She is marketing herself better than anyone in recent memory. Good for her...although I wish she would just go away, lol.

NateI've always hated the "sell-out" term. I remember when people would say GREEN SOLD OUT! No shit, isn't the point of starting a band to play music and hopefully become successful? Wow, it's like saying Lebron sold out by joining in the NBA when could just chill in Akron and play pickup games in the park.

Yeah, let's face it...by the time you've gotten that far with a woman, there's no point in stopping just due to minor things like her being a she-male.Thunder70 wrote:
and by that time, you really wouldn't mind anyways...lolSnotBubbles wrote: Am I the only one who would "hit it." Of course, unless I found a penis. -

So, basically, she's this generation's Madonna.enigmaax wrote:She writes her own music and designs her own clothes, stages, and performances.
Not that you can know much from it, but I saw a youtube video of a performance of hers in college, and then there's those pictures...hard to believe that girl could turn into THAT. Makes you wonder if she's just very good at marketing and has a great grasp of creating an image or if this is always who she was and just kept it buried - and I think people have said in interviews and when she speaks she doesn't come across like what you'd expect from someone who looks like that.
My guess is "Lady GaGa" is all a carefully planned and orchestrated "stage character". -

There's probably a little bit of both. In the interviews I've seen/heard, she's soft-spoken but confident. There's a lot of "normal" when she talks about her family (her Dad in particular) and some "weird" (seemingly to most people, not me) when she talks about sex. Artists need outlets. Obviously she has a certain type of creativity and the forum for that expression probably wasn't that college performance or an everyday trip to the mall. The stage is that outlet, so sure, it is carefully planned and orchestrated, but it is also the canvas to paint her visions that otherwise might not get out.gut wrote:
