  • baseballstud24
Just got an Iphone and was wondering what apps are cool on it?

Of course I'd like to know of the coolest free ones, but I'd also be willing to buy apps too.

    So what do you like?

What's the App where you hold your phone up to the radio and it will tell you what song is playing and who sings it? Or does that come standard on the phone?
  • sonofsam
Download the cowbell... Nothing says annoying fan like an iPhone cow bell app at a sporting event!

Don't know if it's the same as the Droid...but on the Droid it's called 'Shazam'.

I suggest you give this site a try. http://planet-iphones.com/forums/

press your finger on one of the app icons and after a second they'll shake with a little x to hit and you can delete. You can also move them around when they're buzzing.

Press down and hold your finger on the app for 2 seconds... They will begin to shake around and there will be an "x" in the top left hand corner... hit the x. It will ask you if you want to delete it. This is also how you re-arrange the apps. to get them to stop shaking, hit the button on the bottom of the phone.

No way...I'm relying strictly on this site for my knowledge on this device. Plus it's a great way to boost my post count...Anyway going to that site would be wayyyy to easy.

If you know someone who can do it, jailbreak your iPhone... You can get some really cool sounds, change the way your phone looks and some other cool stuff. Mine is jailbroken and I have been offered $400 for it... I guess they are going as high as $600 on Ebay.
  • The Equalizer
also...audiko.net for your ringtones. You can save them for the iphone straight to the desktop, drag them into itunes and synch and voila. Its a great money saver.

Hard to believe they are selling for that much, it literally took me no time at all to jailbreak mine. I definitely recommend jailbreaking it, I love mine now.

I agree... Took 1 hour from start to finish. That was setting up the iTunes account and everything. I enjoy my phone way more now that its jail broken also.

I just used cydia, haven't heard of black rain.
Lockinfo is probably my favorite tweak.

I'd jailbreak mine if I wasn't afraid it would brick.

My game of choice right now is Alphabetic. I got it when it was free for a certain amount of time but it is now back to $1.99. There is a lite version I believe so you can try it out. Addicting as hell.

Anybody who owns an iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd Gen or later, needs to do themselves a favor and buy GTA Chinatown Wars. It's the same game that came out for the DS and PSP, but it's actually a bit better graphically than the DS version, and offers some different things than that of the PSP game.. Best of all? It's 1/3rd of the price at 9.99..

Definitely the best purchase I've made from the app store.

I used blackrain and cydia to jailbreak mine.. I agree, all the cool apps definitely make it worth it.. The likely hood of bricking it during this process is slim-to-none.
