Wicked...The Musical

thavoiceAnyone know much about this? Have a chance to go see it in Dayton I think coming up fairly soon and was wondering about any feedback.
Person asking isnt really interesting enough to just go with and have much fun so it depends on if I really wanna see this.
Now.....ill be honest...it says musical and that usually isnt something I think Id like but Im always looking to expand my horizons a little bit.
Is it cool...interesting...fun...entertaining? -
gorocks99Everything I've heard says it's a good one, so I'd say go and enjoy it. I know there are several on here who have seen it and will say the same.

I seen it twice in Chicago -
UANygIt's awesome. Everyone I know who has seen it who 'doesn't like musicals' loved it.

sejSorry! I meant to get back to you yesterday, but I was trying to drive home from Cincy in that crazy snow!
I would highly recommend going if you have the opportunity. I'll be going on Sunday, and I've already seen it when it was in Cincy. It's a very entertaining show. -
Laley23Great show! Went in Chicago about 2 years ago and loved it. I read the book in HS and really liked it also (and I hate reading) so I went into it with a positive view form the start, but it definitely didnt disappoint.

GoPensSaw it and thought it was excellent. Definately spins everything you thought you knew about The Wizard of Oz.

BRFThe females in my family saw it in Cleveland and loved it. They want to go see it in Columbus next. I am TOLD that I WILL like it, too.

trackandccrunnerI went to it in Chicago as well and it was awesome. I had a really great time. And the book is good as Laley mentioned. I'd go check it out if you get the chance!

SykotykSaw it at the Benedum in Pittsburgh with the wife. Great show. Even if you don't like musicals, this is just a great story and production. Enjoy it.

DthaneSaw it in PGH because when we were in New York it was sold out everyday. I would guess I've seen 10 Broadway shows, and I'd have to say this is one of my favorites musically. Actually, Mrs. D had the CD of it before I had seen the show, and I was in love with the music before I even knew what it was about. It did win many awards, so if they have a cast that is as good as the one in PGH (not the originals), it should be great.

slingshot4everI saw it in Chicago and will be seeing it in Toledo this April. Not a big fan of musicals, but I liked Wicked a lot mostly because I understand the story behind it.

thavoiceWell I guess my offer for the ticket got revoked.
Dont know exactly how she knew I said 'person who asked isnt that fun' but the txt from last evening said since I dont think she is very fun she is gonna ask someone else instead.
Huh.
Either someone told on me or she lurks on this site.....Im thinking the former.
Oh well..No biggie. Woulda cost me the price of dinner and her endless drivel on the drive to and fro so I guess it is a blessing!!!! -
oberhausWhat a wonderful show. Its not what people think about most musicals...actually most of the new musicals aren't like the musicals of old that high schools do. The music is very modern and the story lines are funny and topical.
I would say if you like Wicked, you would also like other modern musicals. Some of them are Rent, Spring Awakenings, In The Heights, Avenue Q, Urinetown, etc. There are some really good shows out there now.
