President's Day Snowstorm.

  • krazie45
Columbus predicted to have a foot of snow on the ground by tomorrow. I-71 closed in a 23 mile radius after dozens of cars have wrecked. Ohio State remains open but has "graciously" opened their parking garages from 4pm-12am for anyone wanting to park.....you've got to be kidding me

2-3 inches so far in Columbiana County...........

Is Ohio State considered a residential campus or a commuter campus? Ohio University is considered a residential campus where the majority of students live within walking distance to the school...the only way they close is in a level 3.

Yeah..OSU is shut down..along with some other 700 plus schools in the State.

Here's a couple little photo of the wreck that shut down 71 yesterday. At least some 50 cars were involved and the highway was shut down for over 7 hours.

    Holy shit, OSU closed!

I'm getting ready to head off to teach an 8AM class in Athens (OU), because we got essentially nothing from this storm.

I can't believe OSU is closed either. Still coming down hard in Fairfield County as of 8am and the roads look horrid. Going to be a slow ride into work this morning.

The shift to Level 2 snow emergency in Franklin County is what did it I think. Needless to say I'm pleasantly surprised.

We have to have a level 3 in Athens County for OU to close; it's in the university policy.

The President has the right to close it before then, but a Level 3 = automatic closure.

(gave an in-class assignment, so I get to huddle while waiting for anyone to come to me with questions)

...Sucks for gerb, how much snow did you get down there?
  • gerb131
Measured this morning, closing in on 9 for this storm. Still snowing pretty well and has been since I got up. These roads are virtually impassible especiially off the main roads are just nasty.
