Should I be ticked?

baseballstud24Ordered flowers for my fiance to be delivered today at work. The order was for big pink lillies (her favorite) and it said they would be delivered in a glass vase. Well they came for her today and were some funky (nice but funky) flowers that I didn't even know what they were. Also they came in a box with a vase and she had to put it together at work! I specifically stated in my order that if the flowers I ordered were not available, to cancel the order. They took it upon themselves to change my order. I paid like 70 dollars and I feel like I got ripped. Should I be pissed? Or should I just forget about it?

I would be pissed, too. Esp. if she is pissed, I would call then. -
Curly JI'd be ticked !!!
This is why I buy the flowers myself or not at all...instead of someone else 'deceiding' for me. -
baseballstud24She says it not a big deal, but I'm pissed. I know she loves lillies and she just got home with these pieces of shit and they are not nearly as nice as what I ordered. They were supposed to come in a thick frosted glass vase...instead they came in a plain shitty regular glass vase I could buy from Wal-Mart.

ytownfootballDid you call a specific florist or a 1-800 number?
-
Upper90Yes, I mean, in this case....you paid for a service, didn't get the service that you paid for. You're absolutely right to be upset.
-
baseballstud24I got an ad for Flowersfast.com I placed my order online a week ago to give myself plenty of time if they didn't have what I wanted. Granted I know it might not be the most reputable place...but the took my money and told me they would give me what I wanted. I'm still fuming...bullshit

TimberYes...
Take a picture of the flowers and email it to the company.
Ask them if this matches what you ordered, and ask them what their policy is for "making things right?" Tell them any future orders hinge on their handling of this incorrect order.
See what happens... -
Glory Dayssometimes they have that "right to change your order" clause though. even though you said to cancel the order if that happend, maybe someone didnt get the memo.

They had a option box for me to click:Glory Days wrote: sometimes they have that "right to change your order" clause though. even though you said to cancel the order if that happend, maybe someone didnt get the memo.
If we don't have your flowers can we:
Change your order to something similar
or
Cancel your order
I checked the latter. -
ytownfootballThe family has owned a florist for 30 years and these "brokers" are a piss poor excuse for a service, especially around holidays. You may order a week ahead of time, that doesn't mean they PLACE your order until a day or two before delivery. Yes, most of the brokers have a "fill with similar" clause, mostly due to the scenario above. Availability of certain flowers isn't a guarantee either, again, especially during holidays. VD and Mothers Day being the worst.
There is so little profit margin left by the time the order reaches the florist that most are simply being filled so as to not be removed from a list of preferred providers, often at a break even profit margin.
Seriously, if you know the area you are sending the order, look in the phone book and choose a florist, call a dirctory, phone a friend, anything but a broker. You'll never be left guessing what you're sending, if they don't have it, they will tell you up front and suggest a viable alternative. Brokers suck all the way around. -
baseballstud24Point well taken. I new to the area and at my old place I always used a florist. This is the first and last time I'll use a broker.

GoChiefsLooks like your experience was as bad as mine. I did this 2 day delivery thing..Wednesday..they delivered a nice arrangement of roses in a vase..no problem..Thursday..they were supposed to deliver a box of a dozen of these 'gourmet' chocolate covered strawberries. Wife comes home from work..empty handed..so..I asked her if she got anything. Nope. So I check my email..they sent me one saying it wouldn't be delivered until Friday b/c of the 'weather'. Uh..the flowers were delivered with no problem..and the weather was A LOT worst Wednesday than on Thursday. But they said they would be delivered today. So I emailed them..told them my wife would be leaving at noon today. So they had to deliver them before then..they reply with..sorry..our delivery times are 9pm to 5pm..we can not guarantee delivery by then. Of course..wife leaves work...with no delivery. So I'm waiting for a reply back to them now on what they are going to do about it.
Then..about 2 weeks ago..I ordered a ring for her that was personally engraved. Since it was engraved..it had to be shipped out. They guaranteed me it would be back by Valentines Day. Cool...no problem. I get a message from them today. Due to the weather..the ring won't be in until Tuesday. So yeah..hasn't been a good one this year. -
baseballstud24Just got an email back from the company...they refunded me the entire amount. I'll sleep well tonight. haha
-
I Wear PantsThe only way this might be okay is if the flowers they shipped retail for like, twice what you paid. And then it's still hinged on whether the Mrs likes them.
-
baseballstud24Haha...I thought the same thing, but there is no way these flowers cost as much.
-
darbypitcher22call and get your money back
-
WriterbuckeyeLesson learned: always order flowers from a florist you trust -- or at least pick somebody local. That way you at least know who you're dealing with. Glad they did the right thing for you, though.
-
hasbeenI'd be double pissed.
1) You got screwed
2) You had to order flowers -
baseballstud24haha...I better get screwed tonight for #2 on your list.
