ESPN's Obsession with Danica Patrick
-
NateWill it ever end? I'm tired of hearing about her and Michelle Wie.
-
SageI agree.
The only reason this is news is because she's a moderately attractive woman.
She hasn't won shit. If she was a dude, this wouldn't be news at all.
I could see if she was some critically acclaimed Formula 1 racer with trophies falling out of her ass...but she won one race in JAPAN. She hasn't done shit. And it's not like she is some pioneer... there are already plenty of women racing.
I 110% agree. -
NateIf she raced topless, maybe I'd be interested.
-
BlueDevil11She is just another racer, except she is female. She hasn't proven anything yet. Once she starts winning, then I can understand all of the coverage, but until then, she deserves to be treated like another racer and get the same amount of coverage that other racers do.
-
ZeroCoolshe's hot. lets not confuse danica patrick with michelle wie please.
-
ernest_t_bass
I'll take it. -
tuskytuffguyIf she raced topless, it wouldn't amount to much, she doesn't have much up there. Now, if she raced bottomless, that would be something to get excited about, cuz her ass is schmooookin'!
-
ernest_t_bassAnd, I don't know how old she is, but she is attractive.

but she would be in the seated position??tuskytuffguy wrote: If she raced topless, it wouldn't amount to much, she doesn't have much up there. Now, if she raced bottomless, that would be something to get excited about, cuz her ass is schmooookin'! -
ptown_trojans_1She has talent. She actually did well last year in a crap car (better than her other teammates). She has done alright at Daytona I hear. But, I;d compare her to Jr., all hype, no real results yet.
-
BlueDevil11
Exactly the comparison that I was thinking of. Although she hasn't raced at this level yet. If she struggled at this level then, I would compare her to Jr.ptown_trojans_1 wrote: She has talent. At the risk of sounding like a perve. Are you suggesting Michelle Wie isnt good looking? You are about to get deluged with pics of her showing how wrong you are!!ZeroCool wrote: she's hot. lets not confuse danica patrick with michelle wie please. -
SageDanica Patrick is about 4'6". Therefore, she does not possess the ability to be "hot"
-
GoChiefs
5'2"..so I've heard.Sage wrote: Danica Patrick is about 4'6". Therefore, she does not possess the ability to be "hot" -
TimberMs. Wie attends Stanford.. and she is of legal age. No perve issues here, and she is very attractive. She will turn 21 in October.
P.S. Danica Patrick is also attractive. IMO -
THE4RINGZI would bang both of them. Once Michelle Wie turns 18. Regardless of their prowess in their individual sports. And so would you, be honest.

Uh, she'll be 21 this year. Little late. -
krambmanShe gets covered because she is the face of the IRL. I went to the Indy 500 last year and it's totally different from NASCAR. There's aren't a ton of huge IRL fans out there, and in IRL people care more about the racing than the individual drivers (other than Danica) unlike in NASCAR where it's all about the individual drivers. I went to high school with Graham Rahal and looked for some merchandise for him and couldn't find any anywhere! Other than Danica, it was hard to find merchandise for any of the drivers. There were probably more NASCAR merchandise trailers there than IRL trailers. And when Danica got near the lead last year, the fans in the track were the loudest they got all day. The reason she gets most of the coverage on ESPN and everywhere else is because she is by far the most popular IRL driver and the only driver most casual racing fans know about.

Ironic that she is driving Jr's cars.(I mean Rick Hendrick)BlueDevil11 wrote:

Mr. 300Danica>Jr.
-
Be NiceSaw her in person at Bobby Rahals shop in Hilliard a few years ago. Cute, but she had on these funky shorts and her legs were a little hairy. Sort of sad that the only thing I really remember is her hairy legs.
-
Swamp FoxHaven't you guys ever been overseas?
-
darbypitcher22Not a fan of Michelle Wie, but that's just because I don't like Asian women.
I think Danica has her moments -
ts1227Apparently a couple drivers are giving ESPN shit via their Twitter feeds.
Not any drivers that have room to talk, but it's still funny.
Regan Smith said on his Twitter feed, "Maybe ESPN could cover Danica on ESPN2 and the other 50 plus cars on ESPN Classic."Scott Speed posted a note on his feed saying that the media seems to consider Patrick the best driver since Dale Earnhardt Sr. and is "also related to Jesus." -

They should just be happy that ESPN is talking about a Nationwide race in their normal coverage! Usually all they do for Nationwide races is tell you who won, now, people are interested and they may actually get some non-racing fans to watch their stupid so-called sport. Shut the heck up and enjoy the fact that your league is being talked about.ts1227 wrote: Apparently a couple drivers are giving ESPN shit via their Twitter feeds.
