Has anyone learned another language on their own?

Im learning Korean right now, its not too bad, I got the writing system down, now its on to vocabulary, which I hear is the hardest part of learning any new language.

    Any pros have some tips?

I'm in the process, for about 7 months now, of teaching myself Italian. I'm learning it from my step-father who is Sicilian, so it's really a bastardization of the language (lol). It's really not that hard reading and writing, but putting the words that you want to say into a casual sentence is more difficult.
I don't put constant study to it, or it would be much easier, I suspect.

I'm learning Russian on my own. Rosetta Stone blows as it doesn't actually teach you to be fluent in the language. Just enough to get by.

My suggest is to find the best Korean audio tapes on Amazon, and then download it on piratebay. That's what I did.

I took French in high school, but didn't really know anything. Just enough to BS it and get by. I took three courses of Spanish in college, same story there.
