Soccer has become a very physical sport. Go watch a good high school or college game... Guarantee no football player could do it. I love football over any sport but soccer is a great sport also. The faking gets old fast, but have you watched any sport?? They all fake. Lineman act like they're getting held, wt's fall down trying to draw pi calls, NBA(enough said) .....

Not to mention the Ferry community.

    Ya know....

you take the average football player and put him on a soccer field and he will be ALOT better than what the average soccer player would be on the football field.

    No doubt.

yeah, fairies.... BTW, dude finished the game with a broken nose and was still winning headers throughout.

this thread is full of fail...hardly worthy of response as I realize it is a throwaway response to Sage's thread...

however, didn't realize there were so many misguided sports fans out there...

Football is a great game, but soccer equally so in different ways.
I can tell you, that at our school, there have been more broken bones and concussions per season in soccer, (both girls and boys teams), than in football; any arguments that soccer is not physical cannot be based on any personal experiences with the sport.

If your only exposure to soccer is watching a few English Premier League prima donnas flop, then I can only admire you all as being very observant couch potatoes, nothing more.

I can understand how a sarcastic response to Sage's thread gets started...
...but, what I'm surprised about is all the supposedly intelligent band wagoneers who jumped right on with both feet. Lemmings.

btw, the "magic spray" is the same thing the baseball players use when they are hit by a pitch, or what football players use when they have a major bruise lol.

It is just an ointment that completely numbs the area and you feel no pain there for the foreseeable future. Ive used it on a sprained ankle and was able to finish the game. Couldnt walk the next day. Try using it before you mock what it actually does.

So you voted true in the poll??

Ronnie Lott laughs at broken noses.

    lol, your point?

I never called Ronnie Lott or any other football player a fairy. I realize that would be ratarded.

But to call Brian McBride, or any other soccer player a fairy is equally ratarded.

And people think Ochocinco TD celebrations are too much?

Soccer is a good sport but it will never be recognized this way over here for the majority of people.
I think indoor soccer is more fun than outdoor but thats because I'm fat and out of shape these days.

Saying soccer is a tough sport because McBride continually won headers with a broken nose proves nothing other than he really loves balls in or around his mouth.

I'm more of a football guy myself. Never could get into soccer. But I think to say it's for 'chicks, fairies, & foreigners' is completely ignorant. Soccer is a physical sport and you have to be a great athlete to be able to play the game.

I like watching soccer and I realize it is something that isn't for everybody. Yet the more you do then the more you can appreciate intricacies of the game. I have honestly found soccer to be more action packed than the "12 minute" game of football.

The game has really stepped up and become more physical. The whining about being tripped has taken a back seat much like the flopping in the NBA. The NCAA Championship between Akron and Virginia had players essentially being checked into the advertisements surrounding the field. I remember Akron had a guy get a cleat right to the side of the face. After each of these incidents none of the guys got up and complained to a ref. Yet a WR gets touched and he drops to the ground, followed by a stink face and reaching for a fake flag.

I think soccer players are the most in shape athlete with the exception of marathon/distance runners. I love both games but they are very different as one is more evenly paced throughout the entire duration and one is more flashy/brute force with long periods inbetween short spurts of play.

Oh and Beasley's car got bombed cause he plays for shitty Rangers ;) (see my avatar)

Why everyone is comparing Soccer to Football? They have almost nothing in common excpet they are played on grass. Soccer is more like basketball or lacross if you want a valid comparison.

I'm mad at Sage's thread about a sport I like!!!!

I'm going to attack a sport he likes, and make a separate thread about it!!!!!

Don't mess with me!! I'm an adult!!!!

I always get a chuckle out of this as well.

Just shows you what dipshits these people really are. Their complete lack of even the fundamental aspects of the game really helps validate their opinions, LOL.

I love how softball people realized that they had no counter-arguments, so they went on a tangent and went after soccer?

    I don't understand it.

    I hate closed minded people.

"I don't like it, so it's gay" is about one step above a mentally retarded line of thought.

I also hate bad jokes on the interwebs.

The way I look at it is this, my HS soccer team played my HS football team in both soccer and football. (6v6 soccer, 6v6 football). Score?

    25-1 soccer
    44-12 football

    Results:

Stick to your own sport lol

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

You are comparing the results of a 6v6 football game to an 11v11? GTFO

  • Upper90
There was a football player who played soccer during his senior year at my school. Quit football, for whatever reason, really adapted to soccer well, and he enjoyed it.

    Comparing the sports is ridiculous.

Playing the "it has to be one or the other" game is ridiculous.

I love soccer. I enjoy football. I could have probably played either, but my skill set was more suited towards soccer, so that's the direction I chose.
