Trip to New England- Things to see and do?
-
that_guyMy girlfriend and I are heading to New England sometime in late May. It's very early in the planning stage, we'll probably be there for 5 full days, so just looking for suggestions on things to see or do. We'll be flying into either Portland ME, Boston or Providence, then plan to rent a car and go from there.
Neither of us likes to sit around in a hotel or on the beach during a trip, pretty much like to be doing stuff most of the time. Interested in all kinds of activities from hiking to museums. Would be interested to hear of any great restaurants in that region as well, as I do like to eat... -

Cape Cod is very nice with shopping and plenty of restaurants. The mansions are something to see. Some are museums that were abandoned by the owners in the late seventies. They could not sell them so they left. The state took them over and turned a few into museums.that_guy wrote: My girlfriend and I are heading to New England sometime in late May. You got Plymouth Rock(Pebble). Not much but historic with alot of shopping and food in that area.
I went whale watching one time up there and it was awesome. Don't no if the timing is right for that but it was $75 per person. -

AngelWent to New Hampshire last year.
Took the cog to the top of Mt. Washington. It was an awesome experience being at the summit of the mountain.
Flume Gorge at Franconia Notch State Park, NH was also beautiful.
Spent the last afternoon in Boston walking some of the Freedom Trail.
Can't wait to go back this fall.
