Tim Tebow: Will He Fall?
-
ernest_t_bassJust read a post by a fellow huddler, in regards to Tim Tebow, saying how "No one can be that perfect. It's a front." I think I partially agree with this statement, however I also think that he is a pretty good human being.
What is your opinion of Tim Tebow? Will he fall, and do something stupid like Tigers Woods and Michael Phelps? Will he stay this poster child? Well? -
vball10setI'm not a big fan,but I do think he's a good guy--IMO,he's just not an NFL QB
-
se-alumI think he will be fine. If he was gonna fall, it would've in college when the media bowed at his feet.
-
THE4RINGZToo much is made of his religious convictions off the field. I have no problem with that. I don't think he will fall from grace on the public's eye for his personal life. His football career on the other hand...
-
fish82He's a sex scandal waiting to happen. Even money on either:
1. Hermaphrodite Hooker
2. Barbados Blackbelly Sheep -
UA5straightin2008he will fail...and you can take that to the bank
-
thavoiceAs a QB....think he fails.
As a player...he may do OK at another spot..dont know.
As a person...ya never root for a person to fail in life. Can he live up to that pedestal the media has built? Doubt it.
Will he have a scandel like Phelps (oooooh...smoked pot....) or Woods.........I dont think so. -
The EqualizerEveryone falls in life. I get the feeling Tebow is more prepared through his character and faith to get back up.
-
SnotBubblesYou put him int he same category as Woods and Phelps?
Tebow will not be a "great" pro.
Tebow is a good human being, and I think he will be fine. -
ernest_t_bassI just put him in that same category b/c they didn't seem like stars that could fall... and they did.
-
thedynasty1998Can't believe you even put Phelps in the same category as Woods. Phelps smoked some pot, who cares.
If Tebow smoked a bowl, I wouldn't think any different of him. If he was involved in a sex scandal, that would change the perception I have of him.
But the thing is, I don't even care about Tiger's scandal, because I never pictured him as the "model citizen" as Tebow comes off as. Tebow has more to lose if he falters than anyone else, because he preaches his goodness and the perception of him and the reason he is so appealing is more because of his character than his physical abilities. -
ernest_t_bassMy goodness, you guys are idiots. I put them in the same category b/c they FELL. They did something that made them look bad, regardless of what it is.
-
ytownfootballThe question is, will he be relevant enough for anyone to notice if and when he does fail?
-
Fly4FunI'm not a fan of his or anything and I generally dislike Florida. I don't think he'll be an NFL QB.... but I do believe he is a good guy.
-
se-alumPhelps had also previously "fell" w/ a DUI. Not saying that makes him a bad person at all, but you knew he was capable of it doing something stupid.
-
SnotBubblesThey fell? Like slipped into the pool or tripped on the green?
My goodness, you are an idiot Ernest.
This thread is stupid. -
se-alum
Well, being that the thread title is "Will He Fall", "fell" would be the correct word in his statement. Irony huh??SnotBubbles wrote: They fell? Like slipped into the pool or tripped on the green?

ernest_t_bassWait... what? How am I on trial here?
-
thedynasty1998
I get what you were saying, I just think there is a big difference in the levels of the fall.ernest_t_bass wrote: My goodness, you guys are idiots. I put them in the same category b/c they FELL. They did something that made them look bad, regardless of what it is.
If Tebow got busted smoking pot, I don't think I would consider that "falling", but if he was found to be a sex addict I would.
Either way, anything that he does "wrong" would be put under a microscope and would damage him because of the perception of his character. -
Fab1bI am not a fan of the guy but only because he is a gator and the media love affair with him. Living in Jacksonville where Tebow is from and family is I can tell you its not a front. I don't think he will do well in the NFL but the kid does have his head screwed on correctly.
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeI gotta admit, for as much as I dislike Tim Tebow, I do believe he is a genuinely good guy and do NOT see him "slipping up" (so to speak). Put it this way, I would have bet Tiger Woods would have been more inclined to have a sex scandal than Tim Tebow.
-
krazie45I disagree with the notion that Phelps "fell". He's still doing Subway commercials right now and he's not really looked at that much differently to most people.

Tebow was a college phenom whose skill set isn't really suited to the NFL. He could be a Pat White sort of wildcat player, but I don't see him being relevant in the grand scheme of things. If he does fall or fail, it'll likely be in the Marv Alberts/Steve Phillips/Harold Reynolds way, where he does so while serving as a commentator for ESPN (or another network). -
ernest_t_bass
OK, would you guys like me to rephrase then???krazie45 wrote: I disagree with the notion that Phelps "fell". He's still doing Subway commercials right now and he's not really looked at that much differently to most people.
Will Tebow STUMBLE in the media's eyes? -
CinciX12Tebow might not have been aborted but his career will be.
Zing!
