lhs7870Alltell until it became Verizon. Of course we were told that we could keep the alltel account, infact the bills still say alltell. However we were notified recently that we no longer can access the verizon website anymore because we are techincally still alltell even thought our bill goes to verizon.
Confused, me too.
That being said I have no problem with verizon, service is better and my daughter can contact almost all of her friends without using minutes or texting numbers. Just do not want to go to the store to update/fix our accounts right now. Always seems way too busy for me. -

This would be puzzling since both companies had contractual agreements to share towers. The change was mostly on paper in that VZ now owns many of the towers and switching facilities that they used to lease coverage from Alltel on. Now Alltel is the lessee. The technology is also unchanged. CDMA is used by both carriers. :huh:Glory Days wrote:
it really doesnt have to do with the area of coverage, but the quality of that coverage. i have had 2 different phones since the switch and sometimes i get a buzzing noise in the background or the person i call cannot hear me at all or if they do, i sound like a robot and its garbled. never had that problem before with just Alltel(and one of those phones i had for during the switch, so its not the phone).tsst_fballfan wrote:
Someone scamming out of a contract. I work in telecom (not for VZ) and I can tell you their ads are correct. Nobody has a bigger network. My service has went down since Alltel made the switch to Verizon. Plus last time i was in the Verizon store there were about 3 customers backing out of their contract after the switch because the network was so bad they could barely talk on the phone.CenterBHSFan wrote: Finally dropped Allhell and went with Verizon. when i was in there, the Verizon guy was telling the other customers they had to enter a certain code into the old Alltel phones or something like that. the customers kind of rolled their eyes because they already did that and still no luck.tsst_fballfan wrote:

475 Anytime minutes. Unlimited ANY mobile to mobile calling (meaning you can call any cell phone regardless of provider anytime for free) unlimited text, Unlimited data, nights start at 7 and weekends are of course free..
All that for $69 a month. Plus I get a 2 year upgrade price every year.
All you people have fun with Verizon, getting raped out the ass on your bill, for half of the features I have with sprint for a lower price.
Go ask your local verizon rep to give you those minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited text/pics, AND unlimited data for anywhere close to $70/mo. and see how quick they laugh you out of the store.
I had verizon for 3 years, and was paying almost $110 per month for the same features I get now with sprint for $40 less a month. Plus sprint gives you upgrades more often. -
Fab1bWith AT&T I pay $75 a month for my Iphone, got it down from $90 a few months ago. 550 anytime minutes, nights/weekends, free. Unlimited data, 1500 texts.
