Do you have any tattoos?

  • september63
I realize it is a generation thing. I see these NBA players tatted up from neck to wrist though. I dont see many 50 something ppl these days with tatts covering 75% of what you can see of their body? It used to be a military thing, which was honorable. Now what has it become?

I have tons of tats, arms, legs, chest, shoulders, stomach! I don't think its anything but a personal thing IMO.

is this a question, or a rant on the state of tattoos?

I've got a tattoo on my ribs in memory of my grandfather. It's based off of a crayon drawing he made back in elementary school.

I am planning on getting another one but I am not sure what or where yet. I am throwing around the idea of a quarter sleeve on my right shoulder/arm but it'll be a while before I pull the trigger on that.

I have three, all covered by a short sleeve shirt.

Certainly wasnt a rant. I stated i guessed it was an age thing. I am liking the earlly replies. If you have a tatt or more, please share what it is/or your reasoning foor it?

Collar bone, right and left upper arm, outer right calf, most of left leg from and including the kneecap down.

Left arm will hopefully get sleeved this year, maybe get my kneecap covered up this year, and either a big back piece(something like the back of a biker mc jacket) and or possibly the left side of my head all above the hair line except for a little down the sideburn

I have the one stupid obligatory back tat with my last name that everyone gets in high school.

I'd like to get a half sleeve sometime in the future but no idea what I'd get.

4 tats for me. I need to get off my a$$ and get a couple more. My last one was in 1996.

I remember the pics of that. I really like it and it looks really good.

I have 2. The Kanji for power/strength on the inside of my right bicep(or lack there of anymore) and the Tar Heels foot logo on my right shoulder blade. The Kanji symbol was kind of spur of the moment. I am a die hard(to say the least) Carolina fan, hence the tat.

I am looking into getting a 3rd sometime in the near future. I am looking at a similar design that Brad Pitt had in the Ocean's movies on his left forearm. You never really see the tattoo in any of the movies though.

That is the design. I am thinking about getting it starting from the outside of my left ankle and wrapping it around to have the main tribal part finish on the back of my calf or the inside of my calf.

I've been saying I'm getting two tattoos for years now. I really need to just do it.

Didn't you have a dog tag idea for a tattoo? If I remember correctly that sounded pretty sweet. Get it. Tomorrow.
  • Fab4Runner
Yes my Dad, Brother and Grandpa's dog tags. I've got my Dad and Brothers but my Grandma can't find the last one I need. I know I could just go off theirs but I'd rather have it.

Mine are dedicated to my daughter who was born almost three months early, she weighed 2lbs and spent 2 months in the hospital. She is almost 5 now and never had any complications. They are a constant reminder to me that I am lucky to have a healthy daughter and wife. The wife came close to death at the end of her pregnancy. That is my reason for my tattoos.

I guess I'll post the pics of mine....

Of course if my arm was hanging straight down it would look right.
  • Fab1b
I got about 80% of my half sleeve done on my left upper arm hoping to finish this summer and start the right arm

If you are going to get a tatoo it should have some lasting meaning behind it. Great way to honor your grandfather. It looks like a painful one to get on the ribcage though.

Most of it wasn't too bad but some parts were almost unbearably painful.

That is a nice tribute. As have all of the others posted here for family, or lost loved ones. Im not a tatt guy but I respect a persons decision. I guess the original question was do these professional athletes go too far? Neck to wrist?

Dennis Rodman broke the ice in pro sports. I definately wouln't cover myself like that, but each to his own.

Barbed wire on my left biceps got it back when it was cool.

Irish Republican writing on right biceps

Getting one in March when my son turns 16 in honor of my deceased son
