Spring Break - Panama City Beach

  • detectivegibbles
So I think majority vote with all my friends, we are trying to get a thing going down to Panama City Beach.

I got some good insight thru some fellow huddlers with websites and such...greatly appreciated

Anyone have any suggestions about going to Panama City Beach (PCB)?

    Personal experiences?

    Where to say?

Cheapest way to go about booking places, getting down there, etc...?

    Thanks all!

I know I've mentioned it to you before but...

Drive there, that's part of the fun. The drive back is a bitch but you'll have a solid 10 hours to talk about all the dumb shit you did and laugh about it. Plus that way you can leave on your own terms, you don't need to rush to the airport or anything.

We got that house, so I have no clue about hotels and stuff.

But the #1 piece of advice is to get that Panamaniac card....I'm sure any and all other huddlers would agree.

Hey Cview, how do I get ahold of that card?

I would do the house if we could afford it, and I don't think that we could get 25 people to go. But thanks again bro I appreciate it.

A group of 9 buddies and I went to Panama two years ago over Spring Break. We rented a beach house with a pool via VRBO.com; it ended up being incredibly cheap and we had a great time.

With this said, I don't think I'd ever go back to PCB in the spring. The weather was much too mild, especially with the breeze off the gulf. I think most of the daily highs were in the 60 to 65-degree range.

A few tips, from what I remember...

    - Hit up Walmart on your first day and stock up on cheap food for lunches and snacks - bread, peanut butter and jelly, deli meat, hot dogs/burgers and buns, chips - and beer. Remember the location of the store in vicinity to where you stay as you'll probably be back a lot; we had to go every day for several new cases.
    - No matter where you end up staying, hang out at the Summit during the day - that's where all the action is.
    - Carry your ID with you at all times, even if going to the beach. If you're drinking, there are cops everywhere who will ask you for it and it will be required for admittance to any of the beach bars.
    - Try to keep an eye on your cooler at the beach; people - especially when drunk - will feel no remorse for swiping your beer or the entire cooler, itself.
    - Don't waste your money on any sort of "barhop buses". Our group fell for it - and even paid extra for "VIP wristbands" - and we all regretted it. You'll have much more fun, get more bang for your buck, and be able to dictate your own schedule by barhopping yourselves.
    - Contrary to what many people may tell you, there is an open container law in Florida and Panama City Beach. You can be arrested for carrying an open container on any sidewalk, within 50 feet of roadways, or on any public property.
    - Personally, we had more fun at Spinnaker than Club La Vela.
    - Stay the hell away from balconies and excessively loose women.

    Have fun.

Me and some friends are going there either for spring break or over the summer...

I went with my family the summer I was 15, and there is definitely alot off good food places and bars along the beach. Pineapple Willy's, Dirty Dick's, and Spinnakers come to mind. Spinnakers has a club from what I remember and Willy's has a great pier, great ribs too. Also there is a Coyote Ugly bar in town .

Yea I too have heard that Panama isn't the best place in the world to visit.

Can't go wrong with Daytona Beach.

I used to live in Panama City. Personally, Spinnaker was always more fun for us, but LaVela is definitely something to experience.

We went to daytona for a spring break trip for my college baseball team to participate in a tourney thing.

We went to the strip and the clubs always looked packed but it seemed like a huge cock fest. I have heard panama is the same way, but we might have some girls go in our group. Daytona could be a possibility though.

They'll come around for the cards. They came to our house and sold them to us. Pretty much everyone had them so I'd assume they're easy to get. It's usually a used car salesman looking kind of guy or some creep that checks out all the girls tits. But it really does pay for itself. The weather for us was good...we were up at 9am every day on the beach in just our trunks and out every night until the wee hours in nothing but shorts and a t shirt or polo.

Don't use a fake ID. Don't even try. They're nuts about that shit. They'll look people up and down when it is their actual, legal, above 21 ID.

We went with girls, so we were ok there...it could have been a cockfest at the bars, we didn't really think it to be though. I know about half of our group ended up with a random at some point during the trip so IMO it wasn't bad. Spinakers was my favorite bar/club, but try to check out La Vela; it's an experience.

I can't speak for the people that had a bad experience but I know 28 21/22 year old Ohio State students that will all say it was the best week of their lives.
