Anyone Ever Been Hypnotized?

  • sherm03
I downloaded a hypnosis mp3 to help me deal with some things, and I just sat through the first session this afternoon.

I felt really relaxed through the whole thing. Here's to hoping it works out.

Anyone else been hypnotized to help you get through something? How'd it work for you?

It got me through a night at the Funny Bone. Dude had us quacking like ducks, walking like dogs, all sorts of stuff. I know it doesn't relate to your situation but it can definitely be done.
Good luck with whats bothering you.

    I've watched Stir of Echoes.

In other words, no. I'm not dealing with any freaky ghost shit!

About two years ago, i was at a club and this chick had a set of knockers that she shook in fornt of may face for about 5 minutes.

For the next two weeks, every time I closed my eyes or blinked...all that I cout see were those knockers.

I guess I was hypnotized... Or maybe it was a daywalking wet dream.

my aunt used it to quit smoking and swears by it. of course ever since then when the doorbell rings she takes her clothes off and pisses in her potted plants, but that's just a side effect.

You must have been there for J. Medicine Hat. If so, he puts on a damn good show.

Thanks man. It's nothing major. Just suffering from a huge bit of writer's block and...because of that...some confidence issues. These sessions are supposed to help with my creativity and restore confidence. We'll see if it works.

Maybe it's a sign that you just aren't that good at comedy. It definitely shows on here when you do try.

Same thing kind of happened to me about 8 years ago at an OSU football party. Only for me, it made me cuss and sound like a drunken sailor... it was NOT a good thing!!!

    :s

    oh, and tippy...

Keep your eyes on the watch and repeat after me... "I am not thirsty"... "I am not thirsty"... "I am not thirsty"...

Well...I never even said anything about my comedy there. So thanks for making yourself look like a douchebag.

The writer's block actually has nothing to do with my stand up...which, since you're so interested to know, is going pretty well right now. Clubs keep booking me, a talent agent contacted me, I'm in the process of working on a college tour with two other upcoming comics from Ohio, and Bob and Tom favorite Todd Yohn offered to take me on the road with him.

I really don't give a fuck if you think I'm funny or not. I'm going to keep getting paid for it, and you're going to keep hating me (for no other reason I see than sheer jealousy). Eat a dick, Society.

I've been trying to work things out with the Funny Bone for a weekend up there. We can't get the timing right though. If I'm available, the weekend is already booked...if he offers me a weekend, I'm already booked somewhere else.

But hopefully we'll find one that works within the next couple of months and I'll be up there. I'll let you know though.

That's not how it works. You know exactly where you are and what you are doing, you are just so relaxed and chill that you don't care what you are doing. If you really don't want to do whatever it is you're told to do, you will break out of the trance. Everyone has a breaking point. Some people will go a lot further than others in terms of how crazy the things the will do. I've seen a male told that he was pregnant and that he had to give birth now or else, and by god he tried as hard as he could and it was hilarious, but not everyone would be able to go that far.

Sherm...if you don't have an opening act, you should definitely look at this guy. He's got some real potential to make you look like a comedic genius.

I think the "show" hypnosis is far fetched. I'm not sure I believe that stuff.

But hypnosis to kick addictions and for self help reasons aren't that crazy. You don't really "go under," you just feel very relaxed. The whole idea is to help change the way your subconcious works.
For years people have played self-help tapes while they slept because it is believed you subconciously will absorb the information. I think hypnosis works on that same level.
