Power Stroke, Cummins, or Duramax
-
Bio-HazzzzardI prefer cummins, which do you prefer?
-
O-TrapIt's always better to be "cummin" than to be "strokin."
That said, I prefer a Power Stroke. -
nc52dodge builds it cummins shakes it
-
GoChiefsPower stroke! Although..I do like Cummins..my ultimate truck would be a Power stroke with a Cummins motor.

That's a bit confusing....GoChiefs wrote: Powerstroke! Although..I do like Cummins..my ultimate truck would be a Powerstroke with a Cummins motor.
I think I know what you meen.
I prefer Powerstroke. -
GoChiefsLol..what's so confusing about it? The Power strokes have the International engines..while the Dodge has the Cummins engine. Swap out the Dodge Cummins engine...and drop it in the Ford Power stroke.

ZWICK 4 PREZ
It's confusing b/c ur talking about two engines, not trucks.GoChiefs wrote: Lol..what's so confusing about it? The Power strokes have the International engines..while the Dodge has the Cummins engine. Swap out the Dodge Cummins engine...and drop it in the Ford Power stroke. -
GoChiefsI thought the TRUCK was the power stroke..not the engine?? When talking about the engine..I refer to it as International (Navistar). Guess that's just me.

The Powerstroke is made by Navistar, but it's still an engine.GoChiefs wrote: I thought the TRUCK was the power stroke..not the engine?? When talking about the engine..I refer to it as International (Navistar). Guess that's just me. -
DarkonThe Ford Super Duty series gets called a Powerstroke when it has the Powerstroke engine.
-
GoChiefsYep..I see that..I stand corrected. Wasn't aware that Navistar called the engines Power Strokes. Ok..how's this..Ford Diesel truck..with the Cummins engine installed. Ultimate truck. How's that? Lol

End of LinePower Stroke
-
OneBuckeyeDuramax... I am excited to see how ford's new scorpion stroker does.
-
Mr. 300Cummins all the way. Our fleet has tried all three, with the Cummins giving us the best results.
-
Drums of WarWhen I was in the business (sold Duramax), I had many commercial customers tell me that if a manufacturer would ever pair a Cummins with an Allison trans. it would be the ultimate truck. I have been out of the game dfor a while now, and do not know much anymore about the Cummins, but I do know that the Allison Trans was just about Bulletproof.
-
GoChiefsThat's the major problem with the Dodge trucks..the drive trains suck.
-

I thought the same thing about the Cummins/Allison, but did some reading up on it and discovered it would cost less to make a Dodge tranny bullet proof than to match the C/A.Drums of War wrote: When I was in the business (sold Duramax), I had many commercial customers tell me that if a manufacturer would ever pair a Cummins with an Allison trans. it would be the ultimate truck. j_crazymy family is vehemently Cummins. If I bought a duramax or Power Stroke I'm sure they'd give me some shit.
-
LJIf you went out and bought a brand new 2010 truck it would go like this
Duramax>Cummins>Powerstroke
A few years ago when Ford was still dropping the 7.3 into trucks, Chevy had the LLY Duramax and Cummins switched to the 6.7 liter it looked like this
Powerstroke 7.3> Cummins > Powerstroke 6.0 > Duramax LLY > Powerstroke 6.4
The Cummins 5.9 was probably the best engine ever put into trucks. The new 6.7L not so much. -
AppleI thought this thread was going to be about condoms. Boy was I wrong!

bamagirlEvery girl loves a good Powerstroke. I am a Ford fan all the way.
