Gobuckeyes1I'm actually surprised that things like this don't happen more often.
Dairy farming is very stressful, and things aren't good right now economically in the dairy industry. Ssounds like the guy just snapped. -

I grew up on a dairy farm and spent most of my formative years around different aspects of the dairy industry. Price volatility of milk and the commodities needed to produce it, along with the insane hours that they work makes dairy farming quite a roller coaster ride. You could do everything perfectly and still end up losing it all. It takes a toll on farmers long term. Many of the dairy farmers I knew growing up were alcoholics...I would assume it was a way to cope with the stress of the job.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:

It's hard to understand unless you are a part of it. -
mexappeal12what a waste of all those cows
-
darbypitcher22Tough time to be a farmer...
On the other hand somebody go collect the meat. There's burgers and stuff to be made -
mexappeal12^^^ they buried the cows... i need to know if they were used or not.
-
darbypitcher22gayyyyyy
-
mexappeal12definitely not gay... they never would waste that much meat
-
ZWICK 4 PREZI didn't think you used dairy cows for meat.
-
mexappeal12you don't it was a joke
-
ZWICK 4 PREZah.. gotcha
-
Gobuckeyes1Actually, if you eat fast food burger, you are likely eating old dairy cow. Once dairy cows become less productive later in life they are often "culled". Most cull cows end up in low quality meat products. Think cheap ground beef.
-
mexappeal12^^^ hmmm interesting
-
darbypitcher22and that cheap ground beef is fed by corn

I'll second this. Very lame and childish joke, but I laughed my ass off.Darkon wrote:

THE4RINGZVery sad that the average dairy farmer these days cannot make a living when I just paid $3.49 for a gallon of milk.
-
David St. Hubbins^^^ My family has a dairy farm, so I know a good bit about this. There is a considerable difference between what we are paid for the milk by the company that buys it and what it is sold for at the store. The companies that pasteurizes the milk is making the vast majority of what you pay for it, not the farmer. Milk prices are currently extremely low - however, that often doesn't seem to be reflected in the store price.

berryThe costs of care, feed, rumen, board are high. And pulling on 306 tits every morning for years will depress the stongest of men.
