    Do you like it?

    If you like it...........

Does your piss smell sulfuric after eating it?

I have been told that half of the populace who eat asparagus know what I am talking about and the other half would say............huh?!

Blame ernest_t for inspiring me to create an inane thread.

Yes, and I'm damn proud to have stinky pee.
  • justincredible
I love it but I am not sure I've noticed a change in the way my pee smells after eating it.

As to the question, I love though we don't get it often as no else in the family cares for it much. If it's fresh picked I'll eat it uncooked.

I love most all vegetables and asparagus is no exception. I could live on vegetables alone.

Never had a urine smell from it that I know of.

I love it and don't think ive noticed the smell. However when I eat golden crisp cereal my piss smells just like it.

Like Y-town, I love it but don't get it much 'cause no one else in the family will eat it.

Not in the habit of smelling pee (even my own ) so I can't comment on that issue....although Orrville city water is known to dissolve metals;)

    Yep.

I parboil mine and then wrap it in bacon, drizzle it with e-v olive oil and broil/grill it. Sooooo good!

Spread some mascarpone cheese on thinly sliced prosciutto, wrap it around the asparagus (secure with a toothpick) and grill. Amazing.

I am stunned by the poll results.

In a college biology class we did an experiment where we all ate a sprig of asparagus and then tested urine for the odor associated with the digesting of asparagus. We had over 50% of our small test group come back + for the genetic marker.

I love asparagus. I had heard that people's urine smells pretty bad after eating it, but mine never had....until this week I finally noticed it.
  • ricola
the odor is quite noticeable---if you're genetically able to smell it you would.
  • BRF
So, am I getting this right? It all smells, BUT only about half the population has the genetic make-up to be able to smell it?
