If you are wondering, yes she is with child.

Who was that woman? Other than his lady Dawn.

For anyone who can answer...why then would he almost "breakdown" ?

IF he gets a show on Fox it will be with most likely a much different crew that has been his family for the last several years or more. Some will come back but he realizes how hard it is on them (hence adding to their buyout with his own money). Leaving a place you've worked at for 15 or so years is never easy.

Because he's been with NBC for a long time and despite all this shit, NBC was good for Conan and Conan was good for NBC. It's a relationship that was filled with many great times through the years and despite the screw job, it's got to be hard to walk away from the network. He'll land on his feet somewhere but it doesn't make it any easier.

It's basically like a divorce. Despite NBC turning into a bitch and the relationship hitting the rocks, Conan will still think back on all the great times and all of the positives that came from the relationship.

Good explanation...one which I don't believe I would have experienced myself.

It would seem that the good times would have come from the industry, the discipline of comedy, a talk show...those seem to be expected to continue. I would rarely have emotional ties to an employer as much as I would a job or the direct people relationships. I thought those people were going to follow him in some capacity.

I watched. Conan just isnt funny. Carrell bit was uncomfortable to watch. Ferrell was awkward. And that was an awful version of Freebird. Conan was absolutely atrocious on the guitar.

    Dear Internet,

I watched, I laughed a couple of times. Thought his parting words were classy.

    FREEBIRD!!! :D

Great ending to a show that was/will be better than anything Jay comes up with.

Haha you're judging a version of Free Bird that was sang by Will Ferrell? And you're judging Conan's guitar skills when he's not even a musician? Seriously?

I wish some people could go buy a sense of humor.

I thought Conan was a class act. I thought all his skits on last nights show was funny. Can't wait to see him go to Fox and become the late night king.

Conan actually plays guitar pretty well. He was playing right notes and was pretty decent during solo.

And also it was just a jam session. Wasn't meant to be a direct rendition of freebird. Have you ever played guitar or just jammed with friends? Its about having fun not nailing every song 100%.

    Obviously he hasn't lol.

Conan is the man, and seems like one of the more genuine guys in showbiz. Bravo for him fighting for the extra money for his crew, who uprooted their families from NYC to go to LA.

Like others have said, he'll be losing some members of a crew he's worked with nearly every day for 15+ years.

Plus, he's said multiple times his dream growing up was to host "The Tonight Show." I believe it was on Inside The Actor's Studio he said that when his teacher asked him in 3rd grade or something what he wanted to be, he said "I want to have Johnny Carson's job."

It has to be tough knowing that he was actually able to attain such a far-fetched dream, only to lose it.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it, a jam session. And it was a very entertaining one as well.

I knew Conan played the drums but never knew he played some guitar also. Pretty well-rounded dude.

Well, I was trying to do the rough math in my head...Thought there was something like 200 staff and crew, and NBC was giving them $12M? So that's an average of $60k...But obviously there are some much higher paid talent and then you have lower admins....With Conan adding to it, I would guess the most got about 1 year's salary, but the talent probably got maybe 6 months or so.

It will depend on where Conan does the show. If he goes back to NY, I'm guessing quite a few won't want to uproot their family again. If he stay where he's at, I think most will join him on his new show. He's going to need to hire a staff anyway.

Will Farrell is not as funny as he thinks that he is.
  • ohiotiger33
    I agree haha. Conan>Farrell.
