Good long weekend golf trip site?

  • ZWICK 4 PREZ
What's a good place to go and play golf and make a long weekend out of it? Last year we went to Ogelbay so list something besides there. Preferably something in a bordering state or not too far out of Ohio. Could even be in Ohio I guess.

You could get a hotel in Sunbury and play as many courses around there as you could.

    Rattlesnake Ridge
    Blackhawk
    Arrowhead
    Royal American
    Double Eagle
    Table Rock

I lived temporarily in Sunbury for awhile. I've only played Bent Tree and Northstar though.

Yeah, the lifestyles condos. My cousin, best friend in high school, ex gf's brother and sister's best friend all lived in that complex.

Remember, this is Sunbury we are talking about and yes it's ok if dueling banjos is playing in your head.

Canaan Valley Resort in West By God is nice and pretty close. Stayed there last year for a weekend and played the course, it was pristine.

Used to play Blackhawk about once a month with my best friend who still lives in Westerville. He plays there every Sunday in leagues. Nice course. Think the one we used to play all the time though was called Nomis?? maybe. it was smaller, but greens fees were dirt cheap. Played the Airport course there once too...that was different as it seemed as though you could hit the jets with a high 3 iron shot... hehe.

We (he, I and two other friends) took a long weekend to Myrtle Beach one spring and played 72 holes of SWEEEEEET golf at 4 different courses. Add that to hitting the bars there for three nights and basically a long night of driving to get there. Nice little gig and the courses were high end. Seems that 18 to walk on the first course were something like $85, but it was manicured like a high end hookers nails and worth the bucks.

I go to Myrtle/Pinehurst every April so I'd like to stay away from NC/SC.

Belterra in Indiana. You can stop on the way down and play any number of good courses in the Cincinnati area. Then go to Belterra: nice golf course, decent casino, good restaurants, and nice rooms.
Then hit another Cincinnati course on the way home.

If you head to the northwest part of the state, public courses include Red Hawk Run in Findlay, Maumee Bay on the lake, Stone Ridge in BG, Sawmill in Huron, Eagle Creek in Norwalk

Connections are needed for Inverness, Brandywine, Heatherdowns, Highland Meadows.

I think some of the courses in Michigan look very attractive.

Head to Northwest or Northeast Ohio. I can tell you there are some challenging courses in Youngstown you could make a trip out of, but who in their RIGHT mind wants to go to Youngstown?
  • OneBuckeye
That michigan trip looks enticing. I couldn't get the quote thing to work to see how much it is...
