Pat Robertson Strikes Again!

You're right. From what i've read, while almost 95% of the population is Catholic, according to some studies, many also practice Vodou alongside Christianity.power i wrote: Can't find it now, but I did read it was vodou. But of that Catholic majority, I'm betting most of them practice it.
So, while the majority are Catholic and the state religion is Catholicsm, Vodou certainly plays a large role in their culture/belief system as well. -

You mean like Nancy Pelosi and Co. forgiving Harry Reid for his racist comments last week.
RNC chairman Michael Steele nailed it pretty well when he noted that Dems/libs are quick to forgive their own, while piling on if misstatements are made by the other side. This case is another classic example looking at the posts here on this thread.
While I have no love for Robertson personally, the man is nearly 80 years old, and the elderly are prone to misstatements, and getting facts mixed up. The context of his message was an appeal to aid for the suffering people, so I'm inclined to give him a break even as criticizing his error.
Not so to Reid...who is ten years Robertson's junior, and occupies a much more important position than televangelist. -

OK then, and I'll continue to go right ahead and judge this "man of God" based on those comments.Skyhook79 wrote: Democratic leaders say worse things about the Tea Bag Party,Republicans and anyone who disagrees with Obama or their suppossed HealthCare reform.
Of course everyone ignores the fact that he is raising money and sending aid for the victims of this hurricane.
I don't follow Pat Robertson but I certainly am not going to judge him based on his thoughts about Haiti whether they are true or not nobody knows for sure. -

It's like the Hatfields and McCoys. Each side is waiting for the other side to stop before they do themselves. -

Now....bash away, bash away, bash away all!
I used to listen to Rush Limbaugh too, but he is an idiot as well. -
Swamp FoxI could accept the fact that Pat Robertson is approaching 80 and could even cut him some slack for his misstatements, however he has been doing that for a very long time, and I don't think it is entirely a product of his age. I think he makes misstatements as a matter of course.

majorsparkLooks like Danny Glover does not want to be outdone by fellow idiots. According to Glover: “When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”

Strapping Young LadIf God punishes cities/peoples via catastrophic events in the Bible, why are the Christians on this board so quick to dismiss the idea that he would do so today????
9/11, Katrina, Sunami's, earthquakes. Why is it soooooooo crazy for this guy to believe that this event has something to do with God/Satan. Christians accept just as crazy, if not crazier ideas when they put their faith in the God of the Bible.....
As ridiculous as this guy looks saying this shit, religious people around the globe look just as ridiculous puting faith in the God/gods of our crazy religions...
What's the difference????? -
