slingshot4everThinking about getting the fiancee a Sony Reader for her birthday. Anyone have one of these (Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook are the others)? What do you think? Is it really worth 300 bucks?

Fab1bI got my gf a Kindle for her birthday this past May and she loves it. She goes through almost a dang book a day so this really saves space in the house of books stacking up!!! I think it is a good deal, I have the Kindle App on my Iphone and read books through there.

cbus4lifeKindle is a nice option, i've played around with them, can't go wrong.

gorocks99Got the gf a Kindle as well, and she absolutely loves it. Saves money in the long run, and space (as Fab mentioned). The only thing about them is, the next-gen stuff they're starting to unveil looks unreal, and I imagine that eReaders two years from now will be light years ahead of where they are now.

Fab4RunnerI want a Kindle soooo bad. If no one gets me one next Christmas I am just going to buy it for myself.

derek bomarreading is for suckers

bases_loadedThose who have them or have researched them. What is the best one? I have both an amazon and best buy gift card so I am thinking about becoming grown up and I think reading will help me accomplish that. Plus I don't want to buy a reading lamp for my room so I am assuming these are back lit?

gorocks99Kindle isn't back lit, it reflects light (to prevent fatigue from staring at a screen). Not sure if the others are or not.

Bingo. But, still, it is worth the money even if you only use it for a year or two, IMO.gorocks99 wrote: Got the gf a Kindle as well, and she absolutely loves it.
