september63Sleeper, Do you even believe some of the things you say? Or do you just post the ridiculous just hoping people will reply? Are you the person that disagrees with everything just to engage an arguement?

Yes to all of the above.september63 wrote: Sleeper, Do you even believe some of the things you say? Or do you just post the ridiculous just hoping people will reply? Are you the person that disagrees with everything just to engage an arguement? -
gutWhat exactly is the purpose of several Aircraft carriers going there. Would they use helicopters/planes for supply drops? Is it because they plan to use the personnel to administer triage (and I assume the grizzly task of disposing of bodies)? Just curious.
Sounds absolutely horrible. The scary thing about that many dead is you don't know what sort of infectious diseases could be borne out of that. -

I was just talking to my mother about this. I was saying that so far, I only know of the US who is actually in the process of doing something, after verbally committing.
I haven't got to watch too much tv today, so I might have missed something. If any other country has stepped up, I'd like to know... -
BoatShoesVery, Very sad...but in a couple of days we'll go back to caring more about whether Conan stays at NBC. This hits particularly close to home for me as I used to work as a missionary in Port au Prince back in the day. I can't imagine the orphanage where I worked is still standing...I imagine many of the kids I knew aren't alive any more. It's so weird to think about, because you go through your day like any other day, and a couple thousand miles away this is going on...

september63The President of Haiti was speaking on CNN earlier. He thanked the US, Canada, France, Cuba, Venezuela............the ones I could think of.

devil1197Wow, that is some serious stuff.
Hopefully the rescue missions save as many as possible. -

US and Venezuela together in a sentence, with positive reference???The President of Haiti was speaking on CNN earlier. He thanked the US, Canada, France, Cuba, Venezuela............the ones I could think of. -
gutVery sad tragedy...I am interested to see how we handle the response. It's not the same, but it should be a good test of preparedness and changes made post-Katrina.
-
gutGoing to be a major clean-up and is really a huge undertaking.
My solution? If you're unemployed, pick-up a hammer and go to work. -

Thanks for the answer. Glad to see there are other countries out there with some humanity. -
Gobuckeyes1These poor people. They already live in abject poverty and now this....
If anything good comes out of this, maybe we can help them rebuild better than before. -

gerb131Hopefully Al Roker doesn't eat all the relief supplies.
I wouldn't come near that country then or now. Drop them off some lumber and give those remaining something to do. -

Humor usually alleviates some of the pain in certain situations. If you watched any of the provided videos of children lying on the streets bloodied or dead, you might rethink trying to make this funny!! This isnt funny!!gerb131 wrote: Hopefully Al Roker doesn't eat all the relief supplies.

While we are it do you think we could drop some supplies on Morgan or Vinton or Jackson counties? Those folks need it just as bad as some Haitians. It was just a matter of time before that nation got rocked by a huge quake, all the signs were there. -

Carriers are big enough to be used to house survivers. -
charliehustle14I'm in nursing school and if I were actually out of school and finished with my degree, I actually would go down to help. I know American Airlines has been flying docs and nurses down for free, which is awesome.
What a huge disaster. They need all the help they can get right now.
I'll try to help in some other way. Probably make some donations and help with a supply drive. -
zambrownThis is just a horrible situation. I'm actually speechless at how to get my arms around 100K+ casualties. Unbelievable. I hope we can step in and help these people since they started with nothing and now have even less.

tuskytuffguyThe DEA, ATF, CIA, and FBI are probably celebrating over this quake.

how does him writing on this thread have anything to do with the disaster? People get way to worked up over shit said on some random message board that has nothing to do with bashing the earthquake over there...lighten up dude quit having such old ballsseptember63 wrote:

hang_looseMy jjhuddle 12.00$ I saved plus another 88.00$ is going to their relief fund. We have friends in Haiti but haven't been able to contact them. Haiti is a poor country but you rarely see their people begging. They try to take care of themselves.
Sleeper, I don't know what to think about you! Take that THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSTIY off of your signature. Your an embarassement to tOSU and anyone who went there. It was a natural disaster and if people want to pray to God, who are you to cause more grief. People deal with tragedy differently but most people do not attack another persons beliefs.
Sleeper, watch the news and see what kind of hell people are going through there now and in the next couple of days. It won't be pretty. Then imagine some of your friends or family even there and if your not praying to God, your praying to Verizon or Nextel.
Anyway I hope you get a good nights sleep because there is a lot of people in Haiti sleeping or trying to while worried about their family they can't find. -

The the thing in Haiti has nothign to do with sleeper...just like the other millions of Americans who have the exact feelings as him..just as you guys can pray, sleeper can say what he feels lol double standards at it's finest!hang_loose wrote: My jjhuddle 12.00$ I saved plus another 88.00$ is going to their relief fund. SQ_CraziesThe NY Yankees sent 500 grand in relief.
I like Tennessee's donation too--sending all the Lane Kiffin shirts there.
Hopefully others in the sports community follow suit--this is where they need to step up because franchises reap the benefits of their labor in a BIG way in this country. A bunch of them together could really help the cause and I'd love to see a big sum of money from them cause the government to be able to save some of our tax dollars.
