Great Lakes Beer....in Washington, D.C.

  • hrspeedmerchant
My youngest son, who lives in D.C., is attending a "beer tasting" at a Washington bar tonight. The festivities are to mark the debut of Great Lakes Beer in our Nation's Capital.

I wonder if they saved a few kegs of Chritstmas Ale to mark the occassion?

One of the few times the people in Ohio can feel ahead of the curve and chic I guess.

Found it...The Big Hunt, near Dupont Circle. That is awesome, as it is 2 blocks from where I work. It also looks like it was not a 1 time thing and will continue to ship taps and six packs to stores in the near future.

Oh, I hope the Christmas Ale can get out here. Heaven.

Awesome and I was just telling my boss about how great Great Lakes brews are.

That's the place. It's pretty close to my son's work place, too.

When I spoke to him last night he said that Great Lakes is soon going to be in other Washington sites sooner rather than later.

I really like that place. Lived real close to Dupont Circle doing an internship in D.C. a few years ago, neat bar.

Though, as far as things coming out of the midwest are concerned, i prefer Bells.

Bells Porter is the hammer but Great Lakes is a good beer in its own right.

Yeah, I really like it, been there a few times. I work right next to (as in I can see the sign from by office) to another great bar in the area, Mackey's off of 19th and L. But, there are some good bars in the area.

Went last night after work to the Big Hunt and had myself some Great Lakes. They have 4 on tap, Dortmunder Gold and Burning River downstairs and Commodore Perry and Edmund Fitzgerald upstairs.

I talked with some people who were from Ohio and went to the premier on Monday. They said it was crazy packed, but it was a great time. I also spoke with the bartender and he loves the beers and was surprised by the number of people who also love the beers.

Great to have it in the area now. Now, hopefully they can put it in some stores.

Got 6 Great Lakes Christmas Ale chilling in the fridge right now.

Picked up a case of Conway's Irish Ale last night, might crack one in a few. GLBC is one of my top breweries; multiple beers I think that are the best in their class.

I meant to ask ya....finally the light bulb went off and I remembered.

Have you ever had a Dark Lord Imperial Stout, from Three Floyds?
Three Floyds is darn close to us. Located in Munster, Indiana.

If you like having to "chew" a Stout, ya gotta try a Dark Lord.
    :D
