If you like a Wheat Bourbon, MM is okay, but overrated and overpriced. Elijah Craig or Buffalo Trace are 2/3 the price and far superior.

And id we are going Wes_Mantooth's route, I was always partial to Annie Green Springs growing up. Best mixed with grain alcohol, but THAT, my friends, is another story for another time.

I remember when I was a dumb high school kid we would smoke a bag of weed and pound our 22 oz. St. Ides.

Guys - MM used to sell a 100-proof "gold seal" bourbon in some areas that was much better that the 86 proof "red seal" - the extra proof had a bite that overcame the excessive wheat. They still export a very small quantity of 100-proof to Japan - at $325 a bottle.

I still haven't had a bad bourbon yet, though - OK, except for Jim Beam, which tastes like the mash contained 30% grass clippings :)

WHAT - no love for Zima Gold???? :)

I've never been much of a whiskey guy. I prefer a nice lite beer like Bud or Miller or Coors and when it comes to something a little stronger, a margarita with salt or a frozen daiquiri suits me just fine. I also like Labatt's Blue.
  • Jimmie Copas
If you like Crown Royal, try Black Velvet Reserve.
  • Fab4Runner
