Any global warming experts on this site?

  I tired to get a hold of Mr. Gore but have had no luck. I am sick of this fucking cold and snowy weather. Would it hurry up and get worm.

  As a meteorologist, I am sick and fucking tired of people bringing up global warming every time we have a cold or warm snap of longer than 3 consecutive days (even though it happens multiple times a year because it's completely normal), but what are you going to do? :dodgy:

  Excuse their ignorance they just do not realize what global warming is or how it works. They listen to media outlets instead of reading science journals.

  I think it has been colder for more than three days. And it is not just Ohio. Also the highest temp of 09 in Columbus was I believe 96 deg.

  The current weather is neither an indictment against nor a validation of global warming. However, neither were Hurricane Katrina or long spells of high temperatures either.

  While we certainly have a moral obligation to be good stewards of the earth's resources, global warming - and cooling - cycles are naturally occurring and caused by the Sun....not humans.

  Agreed. It's nearly as silly as taking a liitle over a century's worth of recorded weather measurments and pretending it's a long enough period to infer anything about the climate. Come back in 5,000 years and we'll talk.

  First off, I don't buy the global warming theory.
  
  Second off, "experts" claim that global warming isn't merely warmer temperatures...it's any irregular changes in the climate.

  No one in their right mind can claim they have the answer on either side of the argument, unless they are a political hack who just like to spew talking points (so you fit the bill!)
  
  Sure, the Earth's temperature patterns over history are cyclical. Yes, emissions of various gases have skyrocketed. However, to make any assumption that the two are related or unrelated yet is just irresponsible.

  Not an expert, but there is a big ball of fire in the sky that usually gives me the indication if it is hot or cold outside.

  I dont remember the exact numbers from my class..
  But humans only contribute to something like 0.02% of the supposed "global warming" and "climate change".
  
  If there is anyone out there that believes in global warming, please explain to me why Gore refuses to debate anybody about it?

  I was told by someone who considered themselves fluent on the whole global warming matter. And they claimed these very cold temperatures where another point to it.
  
  My response was so basically no matter what the weather does you are correct. haha
  
  I don't know what to believe...but I don't have any problem recycling cans and papers I am happy to help out.
  
  But until Mr.Gore wants to pay for my hybrid I will stick with my vehicle.

  I do not consider myself an expert on the issue of global warming, however, I am naturally a skeptic on this, and many issues.
  
  At the risk of appearing to be AAF-like, I do read articles, from both sides of an issue if available. Here is one I read recently that deals with global warming:

  Reasonable people can differ, in other words, but so can unreasonable people. Between “the science is settled” and “global warming is a hoax,” the experts and the public must grope their way to a common understanding.

  I must admit, this quote from one of the "Climategate" emails gives me reason to have a degree of doubt...

  The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t?.?.?.
  We will keep them out somehow—even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!?.?.?.
  If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the U.K., I think I’ll delete the file rather than send it to anyone?.?.?.
