I was talking about how the fireworks looked like explosions/the tower being blown up, but it sure is a huge target at that height. Tho in an Arab locale one would think the likelihood of a terrorist strike would be minimal.Al Capone wrote:
Should make an interesting target.ricola wrote: what a shame. takes six years to biuld, then gets blown up in about 2 minutes. -
krambmanDubai is an extremely safe city, and one of the coolest new cities in the world. Yes, they have been hit quite hard by the global economy, but so has everyone. Honestly, it's in my top 5 of cities I'd like to visit.

raiderbuckTW is probably playing golf on his course there. No wonder no one can find him!

gutThat place is almost twice as tall as the Sears tower. The top floor is probably over 700 feet higher than the Sears Tower.
Just think about the foundation you'd need for that thing. Insane. -
darbypitcher22Wow, that is really high... wish the dude could have kept the camera steady, you weren't kidding about induced vertigo
-
j_crazyI've seen bigger.

Nashley25^^^whatever d-bag

gerb131If I didn't have business on the first 5 floors no way in hell I would set foot in it. If a fire broke out in the middle you would be cooked.
I heard it was virtually empty as well that can't be good. -
4cards...I guess these guys who built this building never saw the "Towering Inferno"

gerb131Exactly, those people would be crispy.

Don't let the glitz and glamour of the Dubai blind you they are not well off, the emirate is in a lot debt and they just recently had to borrow $10 billion from its much richer and less extravagant neighbor Abu Dubai.O-Trap wrote: 2quick4u, it's a pretty well-off city. I'm betting someone will. -

Wow, for a while there I thought, "well, this is the Middle East, perhaps they simply threw him off without a shoot"adamy35 wrote: Some of you said you'd like to base jump off it, someone beat you to it.
