Mac or PC?

  • Gobuckeyes1
At home, I have never owned anything but a PC.

I got a new iMac last year at work and it is far and away the best computer I have ever operated. My next computer will either be an iMac or a Mac book. I am finally convinced and I am ready to make the switch.

The Terminal! Being unix based is the biggest positive the Mac has, IMO.

I have full root access to the file system on my machine. I can use it to connect to the server I am hosting this on and can copy files from my machine to the server without the need for multiple programs (putty and winscp when I work on the site from my Vista machine).
This is about the only reason I can tolerate Mac's.

I just upgraded my system from XP to 7 though, liking it so far!

If you play any sort of game on your computer, then PC is the only way to go.

Macs are user friendly girlie machines. I'll take a PC any day.

If Macs are so damned superior why is Windows kicking Apple's ass? Just sayin'....;)
Lol yeah just because those Mac commercials are everywhere doesn't mean they are popular. Last I checked Mac only has around 5-7% of the market.
When did you last check, 2001?

Apple now has 10% of the market, Microsoft has 89% and the "others" have 1%...

Though none of that matters, because Apple has been one of the most profitable companies the last few years. Even during this 'recession' their stock market value has skyrocketed.. Point blank, Apple is a greatly ran business.

I wouldn't say Apple runs their business "great."

Had they not been so close-minded on third-party apps, etc. in their early years, for example, they may very easily have cornered the personal computing market. And then Apple would be the system with the biggest security issues. lol

While I wouldn't say 10% of the market should be dismissed, Microsoft still dominates the market 9 to 1.

I am a PC. I've worked and trained on both at the corporate level, and I think PC's are just easier to use and especially easier to troubleshoot.

Mac at home, both at work. I far prefer Macs, though.

PC ... nothing personal against Mac ppl but I feel like some Mac users get super defensive about Macs. NOT EVERYONE, but I know a couple of my friends that have Macs talk about it all the time... I'm like seriously I DONT CARE lol... Mac is like a cult and they want to get other people to join their cult. ALSO, my roommate made this analogy: Mac ppl are like guys with small man parts they get big shiny cars to compensate... Im not saying it is true, but I thought that was funny.

The numbers don't lie about Apple being a success as a business. Apple is not just about "Macs"...

    MAC...

Made the plunge about a year ago and haven't looked back.

So easy to do whatever I want to do.
