    Almost forgont one;

Swing Life Away by Rise Against

Am I loud and clear or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, are we just getting more lost?
I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

    [Chorus]
We live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

I've been here so long; think that its time to move
The winter's so cold summer's over too soon
so let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow
I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times I wouldn't trade for the world
We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go

    [Chorus]
We live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand, until you hold my hand

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

    [Chorus]
We live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

Am I loud and clear or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, are we just getting more lost?
I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

    [Chorus]
We live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

    swing life away
    swing life away
    swing life away
    swing life away

This thread has got me thinking about songs like this, another one popped into my head. The first time I ever heard this song, I fell in love with it.

    Take a Picture-Filter

    Awake on my airplane
    Awake on my airplane
    My skin is bear
    My skin is theirs
    Awake on my airplane
    Awake on my airplane
    My skin is bare
    My skin is theirs
    I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
    Awake on my airplane
    Awake on my airplane
    I feel so real

    [Chorus:]
    Could you take my picture
    'Cuz I won't remember
    Could you take my picture
    'Cuz I won't remember
    Could you take my picture
    'Cuz I won't remember
    Yeah

    I don't believe in
    I don't believe in
    In your sanctity
    Your privacy
    I don't believe in
    I don't believe in
    Sanctity
    A hypocrisy
    Could everyone agree that
No one should be left alone
    Could everyone agree that
They should not be left alone yeah
And I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
    Kicking and screaming

    [Chorus]

Hey dad what do you think about your son now
Ah hey dad what do you think about your son now

    [Chorus (4 times)]

Speaking of Columbine, here was the song Flyleaf wrote for the girl (Cassie) who got shot for saying she believed in God.

    The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes to make it
    Make it

    "Do you believe in God?"
    Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
    Do you believe in God?
    Written on the bullet
    And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
    To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
    In the air

    "Do you believe in God?"
    Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
    Do you believe in God?
    Written on the bullet
    And *Cassie* pulled the trigger

    How many will die?
    I will die
    I, I will say yes

    Do you believe in God?
    Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
    Do you believe in God?
    Written on the bullet
    And *Cassie* pulled the trigger

    (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
    Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

This song...I don't like rap too much, but Cudi is a fucking genius. Whether you credit him or Kanye (apparently Kanye took him under his wing and does a bunch of shit for him...apparently) he is the first rapper I have heard in awhile that raps about more then getting with biatches, doing drugs, etc.

That song I posted is by Mark Oliver Everett of The Eels. He lost his mother and sister within a year of each other and the song is about them. It could be about any lost love obviously.
