YtowngirlinflaLED DLP are the best IMO, even though they aren't as thin and not wall mountable. Plasmas are starting to phase out.

berryI warehouse big screen TV's for several manufacturers and get to see feedback from most customers. The Samsung LED UN46B8000 received so much positive feedback that I bought one for Christmas. It is much better than any plasma that I have owned, and Best Buy had a really good price.

My dad has a 74" DLP LED and it doesn't have screen burn and it's not bad in light.LJ wrote:

They are known for screen burn and ANY projection tv will be bad in light.Ytowngirlinfla wrote:

That said, in the 60"+ range, DLP is the way to go. Under that, the flat panels rule the roost. I don't even think they make DLP's under 60" anymore. -
wes_mantoothLED, but also the most expensive.
Plasma seems to be on it's way out, so there are some pretty good deals on them. I have 3 lcd tvs and they are awesome.
Also, I always check out reviews on www.cnet.com before buying my tvs. -

That's sad because once they fixed the burn in issues with Plasma tv's, the only downfall they had against the LCD's was the overall weight difference (Plasma's are much heavier)wes_mantooth wrote:

wes_mantoothAgreed, but the best format doesn't always win. I still believe that HD DVD is better than Bluray. They were equal in quality of picture, but HD DVD was cheaper and most discs came with the dvd version on the other side of the disc.......which was a big deal to me.
Plasma has better "blacks" which is a huge deal when you are talking about color contrast. -

and perfect viewing angle too. LCD has a sweet spot and only like 172 degrees of viewing angle.wes_mantooth wrote: Agreed, but the best format doesn't always win. Yep. Plasma is not inferior in any way other than some of the cheaper models are not good in bright rooms. The whole weight issue doesn't matter at all considering most people don't make a habit of carrying their tvs around the house all day...lol.LJ wrote:

lol, well, now days, the weight of a 50" plasma would warp the top of most mid tier TV stands.wes_mantooth wrote:
