I see this one of two ways. Either she is under 18, in which case why in the hell are you going out with her, or she is over 18, in which case why in the hell is the dad imposing a curfew like that and why in the hell is she going along with it. But by your response, I am assuming it is the first one.

She turns 18 in I believe 63 hours or so lol. I've known her for a while. And all parents are different I guess. And I haven't 21 too long. 3ish years isn't big in my mind.

So wait 63 hours. I take it she is in high school still?

There is a big difference between a 18 year old and 21 year old. There isn't a big difference between a 30 year old and 33 year old

Sure but I bet a majority of people feel that way.

I guess. You can turn it a lot of ways. I don't see a problem with hanging out with her. The scenario is exaggerated quite a bit. Her dad actually knows who I am prior; I coach her brother. I just like to make things more interesting when I type.

That ain't nothing unusual, I guess.

When I was 18 and out of high school, I still wasn't allowed to stay out after midnight. Not as long as I was living with my mom. Her house, her rules, and that's just the way it was.
Lots of parents out there like that.

BTW, I could get into enough trouble way before midnight back then, lol

While I was in college, I still had rules at home. The older I got, they became "expectations." I really had no argument for my parents until I finally cut myself (financially) loose. As long as you got parents paying for something, they're in control.

So most people are ok with an senior in HS dating a freshmen (3 years) when its 17 to 14 or 18 to 15, but 21 to 18 is not ok?

Give me a break, 21 to 18 is fine and about the most I'd be "ok" with if I was the dad of the girl.

Of course, I'd threaten him within an inch of his live if he got her any alcohol.

No way in hell is my still 17 year old high school daughter dating a 21 year old, nor would my 21 year old son date a 17 year old high school girl. Way too much difference at those ages.

Would your 14 year old freshmen be allowed to date a 17 year old senior?
  • power i
    Nope.
