Recommend Me Some Music

• pmoney25
Recommend me some music from bands/artists who are not necessarily people I have already heard about and list like 5 to 10 songs I may like.I like a wide variety of music other than Rap or Country so if you got some stuff, let me know. I will start

Boysetsfire- After the Eulogy, Rookie, Eviction Article,Cavity, Falling Out Theme, My Life in the Knife Trade, Bathorys Sainthood,

Thats a good mix of their songs, Some heavy, some melodic, some in between. Songs deal with Political Views(They do bash both sides on occassion), Religion, Social Issues. Earlier stuff is more raw and later stuff is obviously more produced because they actually started to make some money.

Sample Lyrics from Eviction Article
[Spoken:]
Who are the real patriots
Who are the real traitors
Who will stand up
Who will be the new leaders
If you love this country, take it back, from those who will destroy it
Protest is patriotism
Protest is patriotism

Now you've thrown your past agreements into the fire
And your government's become a whore
For outside interests that now enslave the poor
Their suffering now stands ignored, pushed out - spat on
Turn jobs into weapons to make a profit out of blood, sweat and lies
Free trade sounds easy and so damned harmless
Until they're exploited by blind eyes, chewed through - spat out
The evil that you feed improves economy for the rich that run your campaign
Increase the bottom line, your role again defined, out with the old and in with the same
Time to unmask the devil
Divide and conquer, kill off and prosper, recite the game that you've been sold
Manifest destiny, your life atrocities, responsibility annulled, pushed out - enslaved
When will their wants meet our needs, when will their words match their deeds
When will the time come to stand and take it back from their hands
The blood is on your hands, life stealing motherxxxxers
The constitution burns to ash in front of you, the people know what you are up to
Your sins will come back on you

• Heretic
Group: Hypocrisy

Songs: Eraser, Slave to the Parasites, Fire in the Sky, Roswell '47, Solar Empire, a lot more but those are the first five that came to mind.
• nc52
cradle of filth

nymphetamine fix
• nc52
anything from the GODZ
• Heretic
Group: Dismember

Songs: Dreaming in Red, I Saw Them Die, Under a Bloodred Sky, Beyond Good and Evil, Tragedy of the Faithful.

Just an intense, brutal metal band. They've kept roughly the same sound for a good 20 years.

I recommend the alternative band HURT

Ten Ton Brick, Dirty, Rapture, Falls Apart, Got Jealous, Wars, Pills, Shallow, House Carpenter, and Danse Russe are all good songs to start with.

Ten Ton Brick

Rapture

Danse Russe

Wars (to the tune of 300)

Pills acoustic- (excuse the interview at the beginning)

If you take the time to check them out, I hope you enjoy them. I've seen them live and they are absolutely mind boggling with how good they are. Although they've had a few songs make the radio, they haven't gotten much recognition and are barely staying afloat financially because of it. I don't expect them to be around much longer because they've lived the part of 'broke musician' for too long now.

I am really liking the new CD from a band called W.E.T. The lead singer Jeff Scott Soto used to be the lead singer of Journey just two years ago, he also toured singing with Queen for a while, and in the 80's was the lead singer for Yngwie Malmsteen. Check out the links below.

Complete different direction from metal/hardcore, but I'll say Moonbabies.

Swedish indie rock/sophisticated pop group. Just started listening to them a couple of days ago. I'm intrigued.

War on sound
Sun A.M.

I've just started getting into The Strokes. Huge in Britain, but relatively unknown here.

Songs: the whole album titled Is This It. My favorites are Soma, Is This It, Someday, and Last Nite. In my opinion, one of the best albums of all time.
• I Wear Pants
Kevin Devine's album "Brother's Blood" is pretty good. Off it I'd suggest Another Bag of Bones.
It's a brushfire spreading, feeding as it moves
It's a disappeared glacier; it's the airborne flu
It's your disbelieving eyes logging concrete miles
It's your yawning conscience and your lawyer's smile
It's an occupied country foaming at the mouth
No smoking gun, no mushroom cloud
It's a military mother with a boy in hell
And it's a flag-draped casket down an oil well
It's an Argentine school-girl gagged and bound
It's a torture camp; it's a long way down
It's the constant bracing shock of now
And it's the whole damn world turned inside out, alright

Apparently, there are a few people who think that Soulja Boy is better than 2Pac, so maybe you should go with him.
