I know the prices do seem steep for a high school game... Here in Columbiana County- adults- $ 6.00 and students- $ 4.00.

I coach for jr.high boys and my wife came to my game last week and informed me that she paid 8 bucks for her and my father in law to watch the game...we have 2 kids but they are 3 and 9 months so I'm pretty sure they didn't charge them to get in. Also the food stand prices are getting out of control. $1.25 for a bottle of water the size of a pop can! No thanks I'll just use the good old drinking fountain.

Our school has a "working pass" program where parents can qualify for a reduced price, or free, season pass by agreeing to work a certain number of games by taking tickets or selling concessions.

The stadium where I am is city owned, used by the 2 big high schools and a college. Admission is 6 or 7 for a hs game, but they charge 5 to park. The place is out on the end of town and there is no parking option. They tow cars that park along the road. Food and drinks not allowed; stadium prices high, taste awful.

The schools have to pay for referees (Even though most aren't very good), electricity, and heat. $6.00 is a small price to pay to watch your daughter or son play any sport. Quit griping and pay up or just don't go. Your sons or daughters will only play for a few short years......Then you can gripe about paying $ to see your grandchildren play.

Electricity and heat? Pretty sure that is paid for through taxes. Concession sales alone would pay for the refs, they don't make that much anyway. Good try though.

Try going to a wrestling tourny, $5 to get in first day, $5 to get in second day, then they make you leave the gym and pay $5 to go back in for championship round. They have package deals but still.....

Do any of your schools have what I refer to as the "Old Fart Pass". My Dad has gotten one for a couple of years now. I think it is for 65+ and he can go to any damn thing he wants for free. Not a bad policy for a life long tax payer. Kinda like saying "Congratulations on making it this long!"
