  • Strapping Young Lad
I hate his racist ass!!!! This dude will NEVER say an encouraging word about a white person. NEVER. No matter what.

At the same time he will NEVER EVER knock a black guy. EVER!!!!

Today he managed to turn the Brett Favre/Brad Childress saga into a RACE ISSUE!!!! THIS GUY IS A RACIST IDIOT AND I HATE HIM!!!!!!!! WHY DOES ESPN USE THIS IDIOT!!!!!

I agree him and that black chick who are on First Take a lot are terrible. I do not like either of them at all.

ESPN loves Rob Parker because race baiting generates viewership. They have had a long history of race baiters on that network so you should not be surprised he is emplloyed there. Rob Parker has no busienss being a journalist on "America's Sports Leader". This is the same guy who got fired by the Detroit Free Press for publishing false statements abou Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins (getting into a fight with the hockey team excpet that Cousins was at church when this allegedly happened) and for the tasteles questioning about whether a certain coaches daughter had married a better coach.

lol wow how did he manage to turn the Favre/Childress situation into a race issue?

Yeah I don't like Rob Parker. But I hardly ever watch First Take, so it works out

How can a disagreement between a white QB and a white coach be a racial issue? Just askin.

    Because a minority wasn't involved I'm sure.

    Never heard of the guy....

If I hadn't read the guys' name, I'd have guessed Joe Morgan.

He claimed that the ''white'' media gives Farve a pass, and the ''white'' media would be all over a black qb if he acted like Farve.

There was a black reporter on that show earlier in the week, whom I thought was pretty good. Dont know name.

    ^Wow that is ridiculous.
  • baseballstud24
He's probably mad because Favre took Tavares Jackson's job as QB.
  • Strapping Young Lad
He manages to turn EVERYTHING into RACE. This dude constantly has race on his mind. The idea of Favre/Childress NEVER occured to me to be a race issue, and never would have. If you'd asked me to twist it into a race issue I'd have had a difficult time.

BTW, last year when McNabb was yanked from the Baltimore game the "white media" stuck up for McNabb.

Now i know in Rob Parker's feeble mind that could never happen because all whites are racist black haters. But it did happen.

This dude just pisses me the f**k off with this race shit.

IMHO, Parker's comment is exactly the same as Rush Limbaugh's comment about the media giving Donovan McNabb a pass because they want to advance the notion of a black QB. Why hasn't the national media picked up on this story and condemned Parker?

This is why I don't watch First and Ten

The 50's called. They and Martin Luther King Jr. want their act back.

Because you can't attack a black man on a racial issue no matter how stupid--or else you become the racist.

That was probably Michael Holley. He used to be on Around the Horn when Max Kellerman hosted that show.

I'm telling you!!! All arguments must contain at least one minority candidate a la the "Rooney Rule".

Don't forget getting booted from the Detroit News for twice asking Rod Marinelli if he wished his daughter had married a better defensive coordinator.

I can guarantee you he wouldn't have said that shit to a black guy. Seriously, if the Lions coach is black that dude would be his biggest supporter. It doesn't matter what a black guy does this douche bag is behind him all the way.

Brett Favre does get a pass from the media.

It's not because he's white. And he has taken some criticism for this latest incident, but the media loves the guy and absolutely refuses to harshly criticize him, which they should have started to do 5 or 6 years ago.

The media has been telling us since this summer Farve would fail and they've turned this latest episode into the worst thing since Micheal Vick.

    Who said that?

I would say many had grown tired of his act when he un-retired again, but I believe most of them included in their opinions: "if he can still play, he should."

Most of the stories and discussion pre-season about Favre touched only briefly about how he is a diva - most of the discussion was about IF he could still play. There was very little talk about how Favre was holding an entire organization hostage, pissing in the face of Packers fans, and upsetting the hierarchy of an entire football team.

There was some criticism, but in general, in my opinion, he got a HUGE pass. What he did this off-season was worse than anything he ever did in Green Bay or New York.

Most in the media questioned if it would work out for in his favor, especially considering his past failings late in the season, but most took the position that Minnesota, with their strong D and outstanding running game, was the best possible situation for Favre - as long as he reigned in the gun-slinger act a bit.

Most, in my opinion, were eager to see how it played out. Very few, if any, predicted an outright failure.
Strapping Young Lad wrote:and they've turned this latest episode into the worst thing since Micheal Vick.
    Again I ask you, who?

There are quite a few former players who now work in the media criticizing Favre, but they are disparaging Childress and the Minnesota organization as much, if not more than they are Favre.

And, everything I've heard and read, there are a whole lot of Favre apologists who claim that "this is what you get with Favre. You had to know that. It's Minnesota's own fault."

I don't think anyone necessarily agrees with Favre's actions, but no one is condemning him for it. Most have taken the approach of "he is what he is."

And comparing this story to the Michael Vick story is just silly. There was much more heated discussion, debate, and criticism going on after the NE 4th and 2 fiasco. Hell, there was more coverage about Dallas' December swoon.

Brett Favre has been getting a pass from the media for years, and he's getting one right now too.
