Computer question?

  • Al Capone
People on here has helped me out before and I appreciate it. So here goes another one. Why when I try to watch a video or listen to music it plays about 2 seconds and pauses for around 10 seconds. The military video that was just posted would take me 30 minutes to watch the whole thing. Whats up?

The video needs to buffer and load. Basically, it need to temporarily load onto your computer. Whenever I go to watch a video online I start it then pause it for a minute before watching it, giving it a chance to buffer and load a bit. If you don't have a really fast internet connection (it sounds like you don't) then it's possible that the video will play faster that it loads (like it plays 1 second of video ever second, but it may take 3 seconds to load 1 second of video). Like I said, pause the video for a minute to let it load some, then watch it. Should solve your problem.

Get rid of your dial-up connection. High speed is the way to go!

I always fixed that problem by downloading Windows Media Player again.

How are you trying to watch the video? Windows Media Player?

Your computer can only play as much as it has received...so if the file you're trying to watch it hosted on a crappy website you will only download as fast as its being given to you.
