Tooth Ache
-
YtowngirlinflaI've had the worst tooth ache the past 2 days. I've taken advil and tylenol with advil working some. Any ideas on what to temporarily relieve the pain. I think I have to wait till I get back to base to see a dentist.

tuskytuffguyJust get your hands on some pennicillin(amox), and it'll be fine in a couple days. Advil about your best bet(tylenol is shit for the birds), unless you can get some Vicodins.

Cleveland BuckPull out the tooth with pliers. Or just drink a bottle of whiskey.

se-alumSwish some luke warm saltwater for a few minutes, guaranteed to work.

You don't "have to wait till you get back to base" to see a dentist. Most Dentists take cash, checks or Visa/MC. Get to a local dentist and probably for under $100-150 they can diagnose your problem and get you some temporary relief till you can get back to base.
Alternatively, you can listen to the the useless suggestions offered here and suffer thru the Holidays.
If you can describe the problem, location, symptoms...I can probably offer you some practical, safe advice. Please understand that specific treatment or medications cannot be done without a thourough medical history. If you wish to post here I'll check back...or PM me. -
CenterBHSFanGo to the drugstore and buy a clove oil kit.
It works!
Either that or take a swig of whiskey and tilt your head so that the whiskey is pooled over your tooth. Swallow.
Repeat until nothing hurts. -

saltoytown...by getting back to base, I am assuming you are in the military. Call your Tricare service center and they can tell you who to see in the area. As long as you are on authorized leave, you can be seen by a civilian dentist. It is always better to get it cleared through your service center first when possible.

...but get to a dentist. -
YtowngirlinflaThanks guys I made an appointment for tomorrow to be seen. I have to call tricare yet but I will do it first thing in the morning. I picked up some ambisol(sp?) and actually it hasn't hurt since I put it on. It's actually a tooth that had a cavity in it and they fixed it but it has been pretty sensitive since they did it in March.

dlazzDentists don't know what they're doing.
Just go score some heroin. -
Seymour ButtsBest to get this done ASAP. The longer you wait the far worse it gets. Trust me I was in your situation about 3 months ago.
I won't even get into the details about your upcomming root canal....
