You might not like it, but it's my opinion and I think it is very reasonable.
Your opinions suck. :p Nobody asked for them anyways. Stay off the NASCAR thread dick. :D
I do stay of Nascar threads... but this isn't a Nascar thread. It's a thread about the "athlete" of the year... who happens to be a Nascar driver. I'm on here to discuss the topic at hand.

The topic is about athlete of the year..not what your definition of a sport was. Liar. And proofread damnit.

If the Athlete of a year participates in an activity that a large portion of people don't consider a sport then I would venture to say it is up for debate.

The conversation of the thread naturally went this direction (I didn't start the trend). I'm just adding to the conversation.

This is exactly why you are an idiot. I suppose Usain Bolt is not an athlete?

No different than comparing your daily commute to a nascar race. Just sayin'.

Looking at this guy doesn't make me think "athlete" but it doesn't mean he isn't one.
    wes has wood.

    I'd say it's a sport.

It's a stupid, stupid, boring, stupid, stupid sport. But a sport none the less. Just like golf and bowling are also sports. I'd say that poker isn't a sport.

My comment was called 'sarcasm'. Unlike your dumbass daily commute comparison. I guess that shows who the idiot is. Wow..someone disagrees with you..so you act like a 10 year old? Good call.

A non Hillbilly/Redneck would know that it's too, not to.:D
  • GoChiefs
    Well I get 'em right every now and then..ass! Lol And it's redneck..not hillbilly..big difference..unlike West Virginians/Hillbillies..I don't f*ck animals.
  • skank
I notice you didn't mention kin. lol.
  • GoChiefs
Well..I don't do that either..if they say no.
  • skank
No means no....unless it's your cousin.

You called someone a retard in the 6th post, but if I call someone an idiot I'm a 10 year old? I just think it's dumb to bring up a sport that's not remotely involved, e.g. cross country, when making an argument for NASCAR. Obviously, driving a car does relate to NASCAR; that's why I mentioned it, even if it is a bad comparison.
  • GoChiefs
Wow..maybe go look back at dlazz's first post..he said he misspelled something..and he called himself a retard..i noted he misspelled something else..so told him he was a retard again. Have you paid attention to the whole thread? Lol Again..it's called S A R C A S M...and again..ccrunner made the comment..you know ccrunner..as in cross country runner..which is obviously why i mentioned cross country. Maybe you should quit being so serious about everything?
  • Sage
I guess you don't need to be an athlete to win the athlete of the year.
  • Firad
I bet I'm more athletic than all NASCAR drivers.

    LOLZ

Thanks for clearing that up; I never would've thought that ccrunner referred to cross country. What makes you think that my posts are any less S A R C A S T I C than yours?

You don't have to make a joke out of every debate that doesn't go your way.

I don't have a problem with NASCAR. It's a form of entertainment, and it succeeds at being one. But that's where it ends. I don't criticize you guys for watching. Hell, I've watch NASCAR multiple times. There is nothing you guys have said that proves it's a sport. If 200 MPH for 500 miles a day makes something a sport, then my pilot friend must be a sport god.
Bodily exertion--taking those G forces for 3+ hours, not to mention the mental stress of it. Takes hand-eye coordination, visual skill, listening skill--listening to spotters is no different than getting a play call. Not to mention balls of steel.

A pilot isn't a sport god. Part of your definition of sport was a game or competition. So the Red Bull pilots are athletes participating in a sport. But flying commercial jets isn't a sport.

Voicing my opinion..not debating anything. ;) As I said already..I don't debate NASCAR. If you already have your mind made up..there is nothing anyone is going to say to make you believe any different. You're entitled to your opinions just as I'm entitled to mine.

    What a joke.

Thank you Quaker Crazy, for actually having a purpose to your post. Seriously.

I agree with the G-force thing, only because it's for such an extended period. If you didn't include that I would've said that I experience triple the G-force when I ride some roller coaster. Well done for including it.

I just can't help but think the Associated Press made a huge mistake. I mean, look at the athletes we have right now. Lebron. Kobe. AP. Chris Johnson. Bolt. Crosby. Ovechkin. Federer. Nadal. Manny freaking Pacquiao. And they give to Jimmie's Johnson? If anything, I think his crew chief Chad Knaus needs the award.
  • SQ_Crazies
I'm not agreeing with who they gave the award to--just arguing that NASCAR is definitely a sport. I like NASCAR, don't follow it religiously or anything but I've spent a lot of time around auto racing in my life and it's most definitely a sport. I understand that some people just don't like it--and that's fine, but it doesn't mean it isn't a sport or that the participants don't qualify as athletes. I think their dislike for it just makes them refuse to admit it's a sport for whatever reason.

I'd imagine Johnson won it because he's been more dominant than anyone in his sport for a few straight years--something that has never been done in the long history of NASCAR--that includes some big time names. So I don't think he really got it for this year alone--although it contributed obviously. Personally, I wouldn't have given him the award but I don't really have a problem with him getting it. I probably would have voted for Kobe or LeBron.
