Ready, set …eat

  • Belly35
We have two friends (well not anymore I’ve taken them of the list of friends for dinner) that eat at light speed. My dog can’t eat that fast he doesn’t chew just swallows. I enjoy cooking and in the preparation I take great pride in the enhancing flavors. Food should be enjoyed, savored and a pleaser to eat. They shove it in and are clueless of what just pasted throw their mouth. When I mention this they say, that food is just fuel for the body what the big deal… Great! Next time I’m serving them cow shit … it burns as fuel enjoy mofo…

Standard dinner at the Belly home is a minimum 45 minute event.

I would classify myself as a just a little above slow eater. Moderate

At what speed do you eat a nicely prepared dinner?

    Light speed
    Fast
    Moderate

    Light speed
    to
    fast

I'm shocked you'd remove friends from being invited for dinner, just because they eat faster than you'd like.

    Quite an ego.

    Awesome thread!

Usually medium-fast, but completely enjoy a meal over a couple of hours with good company.

I've been working on eating more slowly...not because of any of this "SAVOR THE FOOD YOU MOFOS!!!!!" stuff mentioned here, but because it helps with dieting. I'd wolf down food and still feel hungry because I ate so quickly that my brain hadn't had time to register that a bunch of food had entered my body. So, I'd add a little more food and then, a few minutes later, be overly full. Eating more slowly seems to stop that from happening.

I do not care how fast my friends eat.

We will still be friends but why waste my time, energy, preparation, knowledge and cost (free dinner) on someone who will not enjoy gourmet cooking</SPAN>

Maybe they enjoy it but just eat fast

Ah yes. My daily dose of Belly thread.

    I eat moderate to slow.

I like to savor the food.

Another "if you're not like me then you're wrong" thread from Belly. Someone else needs to learn to be more tolerant.

Maybe they just want to enjoy it before belly does. Or maybe they just want to get the helll out of there.

I used to eat very slow. I would always be the last one done as I would savor each bite.

But after 10 weeks at Ft Benning eating 3 meals a day at light speed I am now one of the faster eaters.
  • Cher
I eat as fast as I can so I have time to do other things. Sleep, masturbate, etc.

"shovel it in and taste the food on the way back up". I mastered the art of making pretty much everything a sandwich!

You must have quite a large list of friends you cook gourmet for.

I always hate the assumption from slow eaters that they somehow get more out of the food than people who eat fast. I eat fast and enjoy every single bit. Having downtime between bites doesn't enhance the flavor. I prefer constant flavor instead of periods of nothing. However, in appropriate social settings I will slow down to make conversation and such. But I do not think that the pace at one consumes food somehow decreases the enjoyment. If I didn't enjoy the food I wouldn't eat it the way I do.

Question for those who replied: do you cook I don't mean boiling an egg I mean really know how to cook?
Can you make a complete meal that not out of a box or frozen? </SPAN>
Where preparation, marinating and seasoning is required for the main dish and fresh vegetables are prepared with complementary sauce. </SPAN>

Yes belly, other people on this earth know how to do these things. But most other people don't feel the need to tell everyone about it and act like it's special.

True. But I have some friends who'd fuck up mac and cheese. A lot of people either dont cook or dont know how to cook but luckily I hitched up with a woman who can flat cook.

can you? If so then you should understand the effort it takes ....So I as you this question If you work hard at something and you take pride in the accomplishment do you really want to share it with someone who could give a fuck ?
