I've had several Jeeps over the years and love them. Once this one is payed off I'll be getting another one. I only have to figure out if I want a new Wrangler or buy an old Jeep CJ.

Ford guy all the way! Well..Ford TRUCKS..when it comes to cars..really don't care..as long as it has the American name.

Some one please help me out with the number (if you have it). Honda is either the #1 or #2 company, as far as percentage of the automobile being made on US soil.

I have always had a GM product in the stable but really liked the Accord. Would like to continue to purchase GM products but IMO from this point on they will always be used. Not happy with GM & Chrysler getting money from the Gov't.

I'm torn on what to do in the future as far as car make to purchase but I have a year to decide on that.

You'll be waiting a long time for that number to come. Toyota vehicles sold in the US, including imported models, is 48 percent. Honda's is 59 percent, and Nissan's 45 percent.
For GM and Ford, the domestic parts content is 73 percent, and for Chrysler, it's 72.

OK, well... I drive an Accord, and 75% of that car is made on American soil, so I'm buying American!

Also, I grew up around East Liberty, Anna, Marysville, where these Hondas are made. I know, first hand, that Honda supports these communities, and the communities that surround them. As far as I'm concerned, when I buy a Honda, I am supporting local Ohio communities. OHIO communities. OH-IO.

I think the key to those numbers are the prhase "including imported models".

Profits... so? The money that goes to the workers, which goes back into our economy, does not go over seas. I'm fine with them getting the profits. Perhaps they will use those profits to build more (non-union) plants here on US soil.

LOL..Did I single out Honda and say it wasn't American? No..I wasn't trying to bring the whole domestic/foreign debate into it..we know what cars are the "American" name. That's why I said that..and that's why I didn't single any car manufacturer out. You can drive what you want..I don't care..but I'll never drive anything besides Ford, GM, or Chrysler..ok..I won't even drive a Chrysler product.

Also, it's obvious that some of our large automakers that are "supposedly" American, did a great job with their profits. The businesses made poor decisions, and failed. That led to bailout, and the dropping of certain lines of cars. I pat Ford on the back, b/c they survived, and didn't accept the money. I think that is all a different story for a different day, though.

I think the key is "sold in the United States". If you're going to sell it here, it should be inclusive to where it was made.
