There hasn't been a funny woman on SNL in at least 15 years.
  • snyds113
    Kristen Wiig is really funny.
  • ptangzoot
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were only really funny on the news update in my opinion...however I liked Molly Shannon....

Molly Shannon only had one character. It didn't matter what the name of the character was on the skit, she always behaved the same. I couldn't stand her.

Holy crap, how can these lists not include Steve Martin?!

    -edit-
Nevermind, I guess he wasn't a part of the cast, but a frequent guest.
  • hilliardfan
^^^ I don't believe Steve Martin was a full-time cast member of SNL. I know he hosted the show many times but I don't remember him being a full-time member. That was long ago so I could be wrong.
  • Websurfinbird
I'm surprised nobody included Andy Samberg, the only worthwhile current cast member IMO.
  • ptangzoot
Samberg is the best of the current class....but there are bunch of past castmates that were better....
  • cat_lover
Samberg is funny and if the list was a top ten he would have been on mine.
  • skank
    Eddie Murphy
    Darrell Hammond
    Dan Akroyd
    Phil Hartman
    Chris Farley
    Will Ferrell
    Joe Piscapo

All time favorite guest host: Pete Schwety (Alec Baldwin)
No women on SNL have ever made me laugh and I have never been a big John Belushi fan.
  • Tiernan
The much under appreciated comic stylings of the late great Charles Rocket.

Are you guys kidding me? Where is Billy 'You look mahvalous" Crystal? And the guy that imitated Pat Sajak?
  • believer
SNL was good in the 70's with Aykroyd, Beluishi, Murray, Curtin, etc. but has SUCKED ever since. I'm amazed it's till on the air.
  • Jimmie Copas
    IMO Hartman was the best.

He didn't imitate him, he was infatuated with him, but I can't remember his name. He was one of the three amigos with Martin and Chase.

    Martin Short, just got it.

Dennis Miller was by far the best news anchor
Agreed on Miller, Norm was great as Burt Reynolds on Jeopardy.

I agree on SNL being good in the 70's!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the character who played Pat. I'm guessing it's because they didn't know whether to categorize the actor as a man or a woman.
  • Sonofanump
    Ferrell is beyond overrated.
  • NNN
Kevin Nealon was the best of the Weekend Update anchors. When you have verbal humor combined with his low-key and extremely dry delivery, it pays off.

I also would suggest that anyone who would nominate Colin Quinn be horsewhipped.
