Best guitar solo???
-
BigAppleBuckeyeWhile I am an advocate of 90s grunge, this Slash solo (at the 8:00 mark) in "November Rain" is tough to beat:
What say you? -
ptown_trojans_1I've been listening to Clapton's "Double Trouble" lately. I think that is a pretty damn good one.

BenitoShine on You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd

SQ_CraziesIt's not anywhere near the actual best but I'm so partial to Sick Sad Little World (the extended live solo) by Incubus.
I'm not sure though, there are some great ones. Most epic is without a doubt Stairway to Heaven, may not be everyones favorite but there is no doubt it's the most well known. Not even my favorite from Page though. -

in my opinion, the greatest guitar solo -

GOAT. -
SQ_CraziesThat's not really a solo.
-
Trueblue23Jimi Hendrix, Voodoo Child
Jimmy Page, Stairway to Heaven -
BigAppleBuckeyeA very underrated solo is Eddie Van Halen at the beginning of "Panama."
And while its not a true solo (because Dave Groel is breaking it down on the drums), I love Kurt Cobain's finish to "Drain You" on the Nevermind album. -
charliehustle14Marty McFly's solo at the end of his performance of Johnny B. Goode haha

It may not be a "true" guitar solo, but it's definitely great. It is a solo act though, one that lasted around 3:30, so it fits the mold.SQ_Crazies wrote: That's not really a solo. -
DarkonEric Clapton is my pick. Eddie Van Halen is high on my list also.

fish82Comfortably Numb.
-
tsst_fballfanJoe Satriani!

tiger1990Check out EVH on "Humans Being." That's my favorite by him...

OneBuckeye
Buckethead doing the november rain solo... IMO many buckethead songs have solos that eclipse anything I have heard elsewhere. -
vball10setJoe Perry--Aerosmith--"Same Old Song and Dance"
-
visionquestRandy Rhoads at the end of "mr. crowley".

dlazz
Prince in this one. -
capninsanoEVH - Eruption
Free Bird -
krazie45I agree with BigAppleBuckeye....tough to beat Slash. He also has great solos in Sweet Child O' Mine and Estranged
With that said, Free Bird and Eruption are also two of the best solos. -
cat_loverToo many to pick from. Hendrix Voodoo Chile stands out for me. These might not be solo's but they are good nontheless: The guitar intro in That Smell by Lynyrd Skynyrd and the guitar work in Adam Raised a Cain and Candy's Room by Springsteen always were stand outs for me.

skankAt the end of Hotel California. Also, the one in Carry on my wayward son.
